omo.... you will just open your mouth and spit ou thrash waaaaa, how can they pay you 150 dollars per hour.
The typical minimum for a plumber is $60/hr. And that's not even for fixing anything usually. That's just to come and assess the situation. That's also for residential plumbing. Prices are much higher for large industrial plumbing.

This isn't new thing, but one thing i like about Canada is that it is immigration friendly as long as you qualified.

Getting job is hard everywhere in the world now including canada nd please if you moving to a foreign country better have it at the back of your mind you might not get a white collar job be ready for factory jobs and other menials job, be ready to share a room with two or more people to lower your cost as we all know renting an apartment is damn expensive in Canada!

You will see fine girls and handsome boys forming posh in Nigeria doing factory works in foreign countries, this isn't to discourage no one is just to lower your expectations about these countries!
this is not true. The job many pr holders from Nigerians are using to hold body before their dream job comes is customer care agent not factory. Factory work is too hard abeg. Na students and assylum seekers dey do am pass. Customer care is easy to get so why enter factory to suffer
Re: The True Reality About Migrating To Canada!!! by Cousin9999:
If you go abroad and you're chasing white collar work, you have to go med, law, engineering, business, or law enforcement. Trades are great, but heavily guarded by racist unions and whites. However, if you can get it, it's worth it. Just know that trade work is not for lazy people and it takes a lot out of your body. You will earn every dollar.

Enjoy caribana. grin

I don't believe this.... I moved from Nigeria Canada legitimately via skilled migrant program.
MSC,English proficiency, work experience and proof of funds landed me here in 2019. Please do not mislead the people who are willing to leave the shores of Nigeria legitimately. Anyone willing to leave the shores of Nigeria should kindly visit the country they are willing to relocate website to see their requirements. Germany, NewZealand,Australia,Canada and some other advanced countries are doing this in order to bring highly skilled workers here. When I and my family left Nigeria in February 2019, I met other families who also got their PPR. Note that I studied in Nigeria but Bsc and Msc.

There are a number of realities about Canada that immigrants don’t realize. First is that Canada is managing Canada’s immigration system for the benefit of Canadians, not immigrants. If you can’t find a job, that’s your problem, not Canada’s. Canada is accepting so many immigrants for demographic reasons - to fund its generous social programs by having large numbers of young, well trained, hard working citizens. It is not trying to make immigrants happy, it is trying to make Canadians happy.

Another reality is that Canada has the best educated work force in the world. Most people in Canada now have university or college degrees, so no matter the level of your Educational qualifications, in Canada you're still average.

There are a lot of immigrants who came to Canada with fantastic degrees and vast job experience, but unfortunately now work as carpenters, plumbers, masons etc. Nigerians need to realize that the streets are not paved with gold in Canada, you have to make your own gold.

Lol all what I hear from you guys over there is "I have a friend" I know someone" why don't you give first hand information from your own experiencehuh I'm talking from my own experience here as a Nigerian!!! Those of us here(Nigerians) hardly tell the truth but prefer to live fake lives to make it seem all is well...
my guy, you copied that thing from Quora, I read it some few days ago. You didn't experience it nor was it your original write up
Re: The True Reality About Migrating To Canada!!! by EgunMogaji2: 6:17am On Oct 15, 2020
From a USA perspective.

The reason why I recommend to intending immigrants to learn a trade is that it’s a lucrative side or main job in the USA.

No one is paying $150 per hour to a plumber except if it’s a complicated commercial job. And that’s typically billed to companies with vast overhead like million dollar insurance.

Home owners are not paying that save for maybe it has something to do with connecting to the main sewer line.

Craigslist is filled with advert for cheap plumbing offers. You can get clogged drains opened for $29 or faucet installed for $9.

Abroad plumbers have to go to school, get certificate, get licensed, carry insurance, buy tools, buy van/truck, etc

Naija plumbers basically just have a well worn monkey wrench and saw blade. Not all.

To close. On this nonsense talk of someone trying to dissuade an immigration plan. Please grow the felele up. It’s getting old already.

Anyone that wants to migrate should go get a passport, process the paperwork, buy ticket and leave. To migrate is not a big deal. Nigerians have been doing it since before independence. Enough already.

I didn’t quote anybody so don’t quote me as I’m not feeling well grin

Let’s assume for the sake of argument that 600hrs is correct, do you think that a 6 months old pregnant woman has accumulated 600hrs within 2months?

Of course it's for the benefits of Canadians! What's so surprising about that?

I would personally find it questionable if it wasn't for their benefits.

It is obvious you're just a hungry blogger who feels writing rubbish will make you special.

Canada is the land of milk and honey with the most polite people on earth.

My friend who got there 4 months ago has changed 3 jobs, she works online, already has her own apartment and can fend for herself fully. Last month she had her baby and the government is already paying her for having a baby with 1 year leave.

So not compare Nigerian carpenters, plumbers, electricians to the one in Canada. Those guys are rich.
Take it easy o!

600hrs is what was required to qualify it has now been reduced to 120hrs effective September 27th because of Covid. This is general info on canada.ca website.

Everybody’s immigration story/experience is different. My submission is dont come to Canada without a skill. If you have top-notch IT skills you’d be better positioned.

https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part very hard. Only 1 in 5 Nigerian gets granted. Money is a big issue. U cant have 11m in your account or parents account and say you wanna study that costs 7m to 10m. Even the millions how many Nigerians can afford it. If they also allow every Nigeria without scrutiny he go soon turn malay and Cyprus where gboys will take over.
