I give SWAT 2-3years, they will come out the same.

Pls can someone tell me what the functions of the SWAT are

I think we should highlight specifics about our demand before it turns to creation of nuisance.
1. Will SWATS be on name tags
2. What is the discipline procedure, timeline and punishment if found guilty
3. SWATS should have one state office, they should not be found in every police station so they don't become idle for long periods and become lords to themselves due to their special training
4. They should be given housing facilities in a barrack. They should not be living within the community to avoid escalation of minor conflict and using their influence/training over others (civilians)
5. What is the entry requirements, transfer policy and retirement plan
The authorities should do well to address all these and relevant inputs.

The hurry shows that nothing was properly thought through and nothing good will come out of it.

We expected a re-baptised unit but not so shamelessly and brazenly quick.

SWAT or Sars With Another Title no be today nah.
Last year, it was also mentioned.

If IGP want to succeed in swat formation, the new unit shouldn't be head by banded SARS and once you're in the SARS, you're not expected to join the new unit. Also any atrocity report on the new unit and investigateed to be true then the concern Officer should be treated serious and the officers expell from the Nigerian police. These and many more will make the new unit succeed in the assignment. God bless Nigeria.
