Hey that's not what they said. They didn't say the fight is centered on the LGBTQ community.

They said that fighting police brutality against queer folks is inclusive too!!!

Being queer is illegal in Nigeria ,GEJ made sure of that . Believe me government folks will twist this to mean pro gay rights movement and give the government the excuse needed to disperse protesters forcefully.

Forget that one, it is DOA in Nigeria.
OfoIgbo:

You should also be condemning police brutality against armed robbers and yahoo boys.

Let us not let the west cunningly introduce the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Nigeria

That's a fat lie please say what you know.

This protest was started by Omoleye Sowore on Twitter wwho called the attention of Burna Boy to join but Burna then declined.

He subsequently called on all Nigerians to join and the tweets garnered a lot of likes on TwitterNG. That was when Naira Marley decided to join and even called on all his fans to join him.

When Naira called off his protest, Runtown weighed in and announced a new date for the protest which was on Thursday last week. Falz seeing that Runtown wasn't backing down, put a call through to Runtown and expressed his desire to join him.

So Runtown and Falz were the first people to start protesting on Thursday last week.

Tiwa, Toke and Tacha then joined in the evening of that same day.

The next day other celebrities joined in and the protests grew organically from there.

So let it be known that this current wave of #EndSars protests sweeping the entire country was first started by Runtown and Falz even though the movement and awareness was spread by Omoyele Sowore.

But in all of this, the very first person to come up with or even bring the idea of overhauling Sars years ago was our very own Segalink.

I hope you understand.
manuelreports:
Funny but true this protest was initially sponsored mostly by Lesbians, Gays and Yahoo boys but right now it has gone beyond that.

My brother, if you know the damaging effect of the the LGBTQ agenda, you will run far away from it, this issue is far complex and deeper than than you know, look I have seen things personally with my eyes and experienced things personally also in this aspect, if you want me to further explain Bro, I will give you in full details, I'm thinking of writing a book on this, I was thinking of writing an article here on nairaland concerning gay and lesbianism, but let me just give you a simple truth, no one is born gay or lesbian, a straight person can become gay and a gay person can become straight but it is harder for a gay person to become straight because it becomes an addiction and like every addiction it requires a high level of self determination and self control to get out ( I can explain everything I said here in detail to you), Bro do not support what you don't really understand a lot of people all over the world do not really understand this especially in the west, but there will be consequences for their actions over time that will get very hard to control, if you need further details I will explain more to you, I do not have all that time to type here now...

A lot of nigerians are so illogical. It's almost impossible to be logical in this country. They don't read in between lines and that's a problem. Are these the people that want to take over? I laughed hard when one was given a simple test of 4million naira. Before we could say JACK story don dey spring up. Very funny set of people. They only know how to shout. They really have comprehension problem and that's bad if they want to take over.

You just nailed it... But I believe that the course of this protest is bigger than the below averagr intellect of some of the Youth

Sometimes I wonder how graduates emerge from universities. Intolerance will blind them to scatter this protest and fight themselves which is what these people want. These feminists are fighting for the lgbts that have been brutalized as well. They are not fighting for it to be legalized or something. They are trying to involve everyone in this protest which is quite wise of them if they want the protest successful. They want everybody out In protest against SARS. A lot of nigerians are unable to comprehend.
Just watch as with this my simple logical comment one "olodo graduate" will come and call me gay. Too many dull graduates

You’re absolutely right! It just goes to show that charity doesn’t begin from the home for most people. No one deserves to be brutalized by the police because of their sexual orientation. Can they be prosecuted for such acts? Yes (the rationality behind putting someone who declares affection for same gender in a jail with only same gender for years as rehabilitation/punishment is even a topic for another day). Should they be brutalized for it? No. That’s all but the holy nwejes that are neck deep in pornography, adultery and fornication will skin you alive for thinking this way.

I think you're wrong in your judgement.

The protest is against police brutality done to all Nigerians. Robbers, Fraudsters, Lesbians, Homosexuals, Yahoo boys, etc are all inclusive in the term "All Nigerians".

This isn't about the innocence or guiltiness of the victims, there is no room for police brutality in whatever shade or form.

However, when a group singles itself out to make a statement that seems to lay the emphasis of the protest against a particular sect, it gradually leads to distraction.

The said LGBTQ do not have to say it. Everyone is included. Police brutality is wrong even against a confirmed criminal.

That is the point.

LGBTQ should not seek to drive the attention of the protest towards themselves.

You do not have common sense so Ipob and many other communities are not brutalized by police? So are LGTB not a subset of Nigerians? Do they belong to a different country? If we are fighting for all Nigerians will they not benefit from the results?

You need to get your brain checked if simple comprehension is your problem.

I saw these tweets yesterday and read everything including Segalink's response to them and no where did Sega or anyone else mention that police brutality against Alphabet crew was okay.

Police brutality can be suffered by anyone irrespective of gender , political affiliation, religion etc and infact most people who have been victims of SARS were/are not homosexuals so why make this about them?

Did Police ask Jimoh Isiaq if he was gay before being shot?

Homosexuality has absolutely no place in Nigeria and any attempt to smuggle that depraved practice in will be met with resistance.

HuntSon:

This is no homosexual agenda!

What was actually said was that queers are also victims of police brutality and shouldn't be sidelined cos of their sexuality!

So because someone is too feminine or too masculine makes it right for them to suffer police brutality?

How can you even compare it to armed robbery and fraud

Everything is not western agenda! Deep down y'all feel it's okay for police to brutalize people as long as they're perceived queer! What then is the motive of the ensars struggle? That police brutality is okay for a selective few?

We should be focused, give no room for hijacking.

Honestly i didnt even see where they said they wanna legalize LGBTQ in Nigeria.

They want everyone to join the protest but want police to continue brutalizing a selective few. How does it make sense?

Nigerians saw a tweet saying “LGBTQs also have a right to protest against police brutality” but decided to read it as “we are now fighting for LGBTQs, no more End Sars” how does that make sense?

Oppressing others while fighting for oppression at the same time

Is better the struggle still continue for all with d LGBTQ+ inclusive dan mentioning them, when you know no home for them in this country.

Ok nah.
