There are deep fake technologies nowadays that can be used to manipulate even the most meticulous among men (Robert Kiyosaki: Fake). Therefore, we must be wary of what we believe nowadays. According to Robert Kiyosaki, we can no longer trust what we hear or see. We have to, therefore, constantly verify even the obvious. Fake news can lead people to take dangerous actions that can set humanity back many centuries; it can lead to loss of lives and property and cut short many dreams. To avoid being complicit in people's murder and loss of property, I propose a change in attitude to sharing news on social media. Let us first confirm news before sharing and desist from sharing news that we cannot confirm. On this note, I propose a hashtag #CBUS. CBUS simply means Confirm Before U Share any news or story. Be a member of CBUS today. Remember the hashtag #CBUS when you want to share any news or story online or offline. CBUS is not an association but consider it a movement to control fake news. This can help people to make informed decisions rather than acting on unconfirmed news. It can save your life and property and those of your neighbours. Thank you. 3 Likes 1 Share |

BrainRider: Many people don't know videos, pictures and voice notes can be fake. They take whatever they see, hear or watch on social media as the real deal. We need to constantly educate people to verify before believing, and of course, sharing news online or offline. |
