Still, there was dissatisfaction by SE, the officers from the region killed this same Balewa!!!!

Out of all the most senior officers in Nigeria, SE has 37, none was killed. 8 from the north, all of them were killed. 10 from the west, 2 were killed.

Then Ironsi imposed a unitary system of government on the country so that everything can belong to a region who snatched it!

We must know our history so that when we want to make corrections, we will not end up concealing the truth. This has nothing to do with tribalism but everything to do with the truth.....at times when lies litter the streets. There is a tendency to think those are truths and facts.

WHAT BIAFRANS WILL NEVER TELL YOU ABOUT THE REAL CAUSE OF THEIR WOES IN NIGERIA TODAY:

The Igbo man is known to enjoy blaming the Hausa fulanis, Yorubas and indeed every other Nigerian tribe and Lord Luggard/Britain for their seeming claim of being in third class citizen status in Nigeria. In their perpetual attempts to play the victim card, they recount the political events of Nigeria from 1914 to the present in a half-baked and highly selective manner which cleverly avoids the mention of the roles played by their elite who by all natural laws of judgement were actually responsible for the woes that befell not only the Igbo race but the entire Nigeria nation. The story told in the post above is one of such selective and distorted accounts of history which the average Igbo man is fond of narrating.

However, the national archives have the complete and unedited history of Nigeria regarding the political events beginning way back from even before 1914. I will therefore proceed to furnish my readers with the complete story for all to read and be endowed with enough facts so as to judge and act from an informed position.

Shortly after the 1914 Amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorates, it started getting clear that the country was bound to fail as the amalgamation in question was done with colonial fiat without the consent and consensus of the different tribes which were over 300. This prompted the political leaders to start asking for de-amalgamation so as to forestall the future danger which the forced amalgamation portended.

To that end, Ahmadu Bello, speaking on behalf of the Northern protectorate in 1944 described the amalgamation as "The mistake of 1914 which if allowed to remain will ultimately lead to unstoppable bloodshed and a failed country".
Awolowo, speaking on behalf of the Yorubas and Western minorities, described Nigeria as a mere geographical expression not qualified to be called a country let alone a nation. Awolowo added that if the amalgamation could not be reversed, then Nigeria should be structured as a strictly federal state so as to enable each tribe enjoy autonomy this freedom from being dominated by any one single tribe.

But Nnamdi Azikiwe, speaking for the Igbos, denounced Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello, terming them ethnic champions. He accused them of nursing a sectional agenda against the unity of Nigeria, and he declared further that the Unity of Nigeria was non-negotiable.

After moving the motion for independece in 1953, Anthony Enahoro proposed that a secession clause should be incorporated into the future constitution of Nigeria so as to give legal backing for any tribe to peacefully exit the forced union if it feels marginalized in future. According to Enahoro, such provision in our constitution would instill in all Nigeria's future leaders the fear of the consequences of misgovernance. But Azikiwe, speaking on behalf of Igbos, rose against him in the parliament and labelled him an agent of disunity, and enemy of Nigeria. At a later date, Awolowo too made a case for secession clause, but Azikiwe again resisted him and instigated the colonial authorities to threaten him and Enahoro with charges of treasonable felony if they didn't stop proposing secession clause for the future constitution. While Azikiwe did all these, Igbos cheered and urged him on because they felt the future Nigeria was theirs to dominate and lord it over every other tribe

Before independece, Tafawa Balewa too had in a public speech described Nigeria as a British experiment and Nigeria's unity as a British intention which Nigerians themselves don't believe in. But Azikiwe kicked and demonized him too. Had Azikiwe co-operated with Enahoro, Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa about the secession clause, Nigeria perhaps would not have been this misgoverned.

For those in doubt, here is a link of one of the numerous instances in which Nnamdi Azikiwe fought against the secession clause proposal for the future Nigeria constitution.

It should be noted that there were many Igbo members of the parliament in which Azikiwe fought against Awolowo's secession clause proposal in the link above, but not a single one of them rose against Azikiwe or condemned him.

Igbos initially never wanted to hear anything like secession in Nigeria because they so much believed, though falsely, that they were the most educated tribe. (The first Nigerian tribe to produce a university graduate is the Binis). As an evidence of Igbo domination agenda hence their initial resistance to the idea of secession; here are some quotes:

"From all indications, the god of us Igbos have destined us to rule the whole of Africa"..... Nnamdi Azikiwe (1945).

The igbos really gave the yorubas a run for their money when it came to education. The top cadre of the civil service were yoruba and igbos. For the military and these other services mentioned. Educated igbos were placed at top positions because they merited it. Remember that it is not like the Nigerian system just cherry picked igbos. These igbos were favored by the British ran public sector because they were highly educated and merited those position. Thus when Nigeria gained independence these igbos were at the top of these sectors and obvious choices for those positions by the post colonial government. It was purely based on merit. Remember ahmedu Bello insisted on recruiting British teachers instead of Igbos immediately after independence because of his percieved igbo dominance, but this was because the igbos highly invested in education and took these top positions because it was lucrative and the north tried playing catch up. The igbos merited these positions.

May God bless d op for revealing dis sacred truth.
Ibo people, selfishness and greediness are inseparable. it was d greed to take over and subdue d Niger Delta and their oil dat made Ujuwku declared a war dat consume dem in millions.
Another greed to take over Lagos State which is being resisted by BAT led to an unprecedented hatred towards Tinubu himself and d entire Yoruba people at large.
If dis people are mistakenly allowed to occupy d Aso Rock, Buhari's nepotism and sectionalism will be a child play.

The OP simply stated the truth. The Ibos did not want secession by any region because they thought they would dominate Nigeria. They even accused the Yoruba leaders of treason at the constitutional conference in London in 1954 just because the yorubas wanted Lagos to remain a Yoruba town and the ibos wanted Lagos to be a “no man’s land” even after the yorubas helped fund a new federal capital territory. The ibos caused their own misery.

Yes Ooo na true, we cannot like with such evil and untrustworthy, they want to takeover all of Nigeria.

But by keeping them untrustworthy folks in Nigeria, we have to limit them from big positions so that they don't take over and that is giving us bad name. And since they cannot take over they are sabotaging everything.

Instead we should just eject Igboland from Nigeria and save ourselves from Igbo madness.

All what this poster said is correct; Nigeria was in the hands of Igbos after the colonial masters handed over Nigeria to Nigerians.

Igbos were literary in charge of everything in Nigeria by merit; from economy (Ojukwu's father was the proven richest man in West Africa then), Igbos were the President (Zik), Igbos were the Senate President (Nwafor Orizu), Igbos were the Chief of Army Staff (General Aguiyi Ironsi), Igbos dominated the Nigerian trade and business sector to the envy of other major tribes in Nigeria and then some overzealous Igbo Junior army officers out of their foolishness to correct the political turmoil in the southwest between Obafemi Awolowo and Akintola decided to topple the government in order to release Awolowo from Prison and make him Nigeria's President, but in their foolishness and bigotry, the soldiers drafted to take care of the Southeast coup side refused to kill Michael Okpara, refused to kill Nwafor Orizu, Alvan Ikoku and one of them leaked the coup info to Nnamdi Azikiwe his uncle, who then cunningly ran away from Nigeria under the guise of medical vacation.

Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna, Anuforo, Onwuatuegwu, my now late uncle, and all the coupists messed Igbo people up in Nigeria because there was no reason for an Igbo to lead any coup in 1966 when Igbos were the ones in charge of Nigeria.

Their foolishness is what Igbos are paying for till today.

My uncle was one of them, he and Nzeogwu were the ones that led Kaduna side of the coup and they killed Ahmadu Bello in his home, my now late uncle regretted that foolish decision before he died, he confessed this to me because I was always asking him about the coup, the war, the events that took place before and during the war which drew me so close to him cos I wanted to write a book on this. He said they were so carried away by Awolowo's political gimmicks and felt Awolowo was the right man to turn Nigeria to London.

He said even though there were corruption and nepotism among the Northern political elites, especially Ahmadu Bello, Okotie Ebo, Akin tola, etc, that Belewa was a neutral leader who was only being misled by Bello and other northern traditional rulers wanting him to favor Islam and Muslims which Nzeogwu hated so much.

Igbo political leaders of 1960s messed up the Igbos big time.

From foolish Nnamdi Azikiwe who only wanted national respect and honor to Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi that returned Nigeria to Federal abi unitary system of government to Nzeogwu to stupid Ifeajuna and Ben Nwabueze, they are the people that destroyed the Igbos in Nigeria.

The only hero of the Igbos is Colonel Ojukwu aka Ikemba Nnewi who stood against massacre of Igbos in the North in the 1966 Northern pogrom.

The rest are fools!!

Nnamdi Kanu is another foolish Igbo boy that Igbos need to do away with as soon as possible because that guy is senseless and foolish. He is causing us Igbos more harm than good. He started well but he has now derailed completely and gone totally mad by the stupid influence he commands among some gullible Igbo youths.

Op you are right.

But those mistakes are now in the past, Igbos have paid enough price for their mistake of 1966 coup, and have fully bounced back and no enemy can deny that, no Igbo enemy can stop Igbos, they couldn't do it in 1967 to 1970, it can never happen ever again, not when great Igbo sons like us are alive and now have global reach and allies smiley

Igbos are great, talented people, specially blessed by God Almighty, no man or spirit can stop Igbos from shinning honestly. If you study the Igbos, they are driven by desire for success and greatness, which makes them outshine others.

Igbos are too gifted to be neglected.

Nigeria is a mess it is today because the leadership of Nigeria have for decades exempted honorable, sound Igbo talents from the federal government of Nigeria while exalting rogue and criminal minded corrupt Igbos intentionally to destabilize Southeast and the Igbos. If not, tell me why Northern Nigeria political oligarch and Yorubas will be promoting Igbo political thieves like Rochas Okorocha, Orji Uzo Kalu, etc and even when the large population of Igbos are saying we don't want such people....instead they help to rig them in to become our Governors and Senators so they can continue to destroy Igbo land with their corrupt governance and abetting of Northern political criminals..

One thing that should also make people realize how great Igbos are is the fact that just one tribe is always gang-hated and bullied by group of other tribes even when they are innocent just like we can see in this #EndSARS protest saga, it's a clear sign that there is something great about that single tribe that every other tribe is scared of.

It's just like Americans in the world, every country hate and fear them but still cannot do without them. It's just like Jews too, many countries hate them and wish they can be exterminated from the face of earth yet they keep bouncing bigger snd waxing stronger.

Love or hate the Igbos, you cannot stop them from shinning or excelling beyond boundaries of the world, so it is safer for you to find a way to accept them and befriend them for your own personal growth and development cool

I am a proud son of the Igbo race, an illustrious Igbo son who enjoys interacting with people of all class, and love to stand by the truth no matter who is hurt cool

*THIS IS THE REASON WHY HAUSAS, YORUBAS, EDO AND THE NIGER DELTA MAN WILL NOT TRUST THE IBO MAN AT THE CENTER AND WHY THE HAUSAS MAY NOT WANT TO RELINQUISH POWER IN NIGERIA*

Any historians in the house to vet this:

Forgotten History Of Igbo Tribe And Northern Alliance.

Do you know that when Tafawa Balewa was Prime Minister of Nigeria;

Chief of Army Staff was from SE
Chief of Naval Staff was from SE
IG of Police was from SE
Chief of Defence Staff was from SE
Internal Affairs Minister SE
External Affairs Minister SE
Education Minister South SE
Many other key ministries to SE
Parliament President SE
Unilag VC from SE
The University of Ibadan VC from SE
North resisted same at ABU!

*What follows are documented facts that can be cross-checked for authenticity!"*

Thou shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

*“Prof. Ben Nwabueze was the man who drafted the constitution that took away powers from regions and handed it to the central government because his brother Aguiyi Ironsi was the head of state then. Today, he is shouting restructuring that he helped to destroy. We won’t forget.”*.

Enough of all these rubbish, if you don't trust who you share same country with, why not allow them go their separate way, rather you insist they remain with you with the trust gap

Standard reply of most Igbos that seeks to portray them as 'helpless victims' being forced to stay in Nigeria against their will. You Igbos dont need Biafra in name or legality to accept you are free. Your Biafra noise shows you are unserious and deliberately giving excuses for still being in Nigeria and benefitting from Nigerians you claim to hate and want to be away from.

You are enslaving yourselves mentally and only proving to others you are not serious about leaving Nigeria with your redundant noise of "they won't let us go".

If you really want Biafra then every Igbo should relocate to the SE and give all their resources to support the efforts of administrative and political leaders to make every corner of the SE utopia.

What you are doing now i.e shouting Biafra from every corner of the world, even places as remote as Alaska, just reveals that Igbos are dishonest blackmailers. A people who really want their own nation would not be the most dispersed or itinerant in the world by nature. Fact. They would be insular and focused on physical migration to a symbolic 'motherland' that would serve as a base of excellence for encouraging Igbos to key into and support the greater development of Biafra.

You lot can't even be bothered to develop geographical Biafra (the SE states of ala Igbo) you all run away from as soon as you turn 12 and you are shouting Biafra fraudulently up and down.

Igbos , if a serious and determined people, would not be shouting Biafra from Lagos, Ogun, Kaduna, Kano, Accra, Cape Town etal where they are well-ensconced with their family, businesses and general life.

NO we wont
because its greed thats driving their agitations.....you want to leave now that you have lost out in the game of power,...if you really wanted to leave Nigeria the best time for you to have agitated for seperation would have been when PDP a party you overwwhelmingly vote for was in power, doing so when you are no longer in power is hypocritical and has exposed you as sore losers and undemocratic set of people...

why didnt you leave in 16 years of PDP? Its because you were enjoying the government and no that the power has shifted, you would prefer the country scattered , we wont allow you......

You must be forced to remain in Nigeria like Azikwe forced this Nigeria on us thinking it will make ibos rule over the rest of us forever, unfortunately for him, it didnt work out like he planned and the result is what we see today

All what this poster said is correct; Nigeria was in the hands of Igbos after the colonial masters handed over Nigeria to Nigerians.

you are wrong, those events, though in the past will always be remembered, it like you saying blacks in america should forget about their slavery past even though slavery has been abolished for 200 years.....
Honestly most Nigerians were getting over it until your foolishness started again in 2015 after losing a democratic election , you people woke up the ghost of Biafra , you have been on revisionist mission since then and you think others are fools......nobody is ganging up against you, its rather you always chosing to go after those bigger than you and who will always defeat you.....
The way you fill your childrens brains with lies about biafra to cover your foolishness is the way other nigerians too are filling their childrens brains with the truth about biafra.......

No single tribe in Nigeria can single handedly compete with or challenge Igbos and survive it, you know it cool

The only way they try is through gang up with other tribes, aside that, they are powerless and can only bark at Igbos, its not easy to be the most powerful tribe in midst of many. If Igbos were any other Nigerian tribe being gang-bullied and attacked every time, that tribe would have gone into extinction, give it up for the Igbos abeg.....they are too brave to be intimidated wink

As we have seen during this rioting, that is not true.

While Yoruba, Cross river and others were busy blaming Igbos for the riots. The riots in Igboland were blamed on Igbos even by Igbos.
