Personally I think the electoral college makes sense. That way every state has a say in the presidential elections. Imagine states like Alaska, Delaware and the likes with population less than a million nobody would care about them

This isn't remotely true.

In this election the only states both campaign cared about were swing states.
Trump never campaigned in Alaska cause he knew he'd easily win it.
Biden never campaigned in Delaware cause he knew he'd easily win it.
The states you mentioned, no one cared about them.

They only traveled to and campaigned in states that determine the election. So how is it different from what the electoral college is 'trying' to avoid?

By the time Georgia count is complete, Biden is expected to be ahead by a minimum of 5000 votes(very conservative estimate, I don't want Republicans to die yet grin)


The 8000 votes from Diaspora Georgians is also expected to be won by Biden.

The breakdown shows that serving Armed forces Georgians are about 3900 while Business & Leisure expatriates are about 4100. The Armed forces personnel are very angry with Trump over how he handled the bombings of their base in Iraq by Iranian Revolutionary Guards which left most of the soldiers with mental and psychological traumas. Trump allowed an adversary to bomb them without consequences. It really demoralized them and hurt their pride as American soldiers. Then the bounty that Putin placed on US soldiers in Afganistan which Trump tried to cover up and do nothing about is another thing annoying them.


As for the business and leisure Expatriates, most of whom live in Europe, they are daily confronted with the unpopularity of Trump in their countries of residence and it will wear off on them. Trump is very unpopular in Britain(70% dislike him there) and in France(75% dislike him there).

So Biden will extend his win in Georgia by the time the overseas votes are also counted.
