Commonwealth lightwelter weight boxing champion, Olusegun Akose has revealed that the major prolem with the sport in the country is lack of competitions for the amateur boxers and lack of promotional fights for the professional boxers, blaming the situation on the selfishness of those who want to make money at all cost.

Speaking with Brilafm.net, Ajose who is preparing for his world elimination fight with Algeria Ali Jeeba later this month stated that he is happy good administrators have taken over at the amateur level and says he expects a change n performance very soon

"The problem with boxing is that there is lack of competitions for amateur and promotional fights for proffesionals. A lot of this has occured due to the greediness of TV stations who want the promoter to promote the fight and also want the promoters to pay them to show the fight on TV.

"I am very happy that there are now new administrators taking over amateur boxing and i believe with time, they will do the right thing and improve the boxers" he declared
