Ikpeazu laments poor state of federal roads in Abia
...calls for urgent intervention

Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has called on the federal government to urgently intervene in the deplorable state of federal roads in the state.

The Governor in a series of tweets via his official twitter handle @GovernorIkpeazu, noted that almost all roads linking Abia to other states are in total disrepair. He expressed concern over the untold hardship this has caused road users and business owners.

"Abia as a State bordered by seven other States is replete with a number of federal roads cutting across the State into other States. However, almost all of such roads are in a state of total disrepair, causing untold hardship to road users from across the country.

"I call for the urgent intervention of @NigeriaGov in revamping these roads which include: Aba-PH segment of Enugu-PH Highway, Aba-Ikot Ekpene & Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene Roads linking Abia to Akwa Ibom and Cross River States, and Umuahia-Ohafia- Arochukwu Rd among others," he said.

Governor Ikpeazu, whose administration built alternative roads to other states, feared that Abia might be landlocked if nothing is done to salvage the situation urgently.

He went on to disclose that the state received a letter from the federal government to stop an ongoing construction work it embarked upon along a federal road

"Given that our people have trade and commerce as their main source of livelihood, landlocking Abia will amount to asphyxiation of our citizens. Save for the alternative new road we did between Akwa Ibom and Aba through Ekwereazu, the plight of our traders would have been unimaginable!

"We therefore appeal for immediate FGN intervention on these roads including Osisioma Owerrinta through the NNPC Depot in Osisioma where we have been stopped from continuing our work by the Feferal Ministry of Works through a letter we received just yesterday," he concluded

Look at this bombliFOOL. You think your blackmail on the FG will make us forget your incompetence. Federal roads are not the only road in a state and they barely reach up to 2 percent of the road in a state.
If you want to see a case of where messed up FG roads doesn't affect the state, go to Anambra where the Enugu-Onitsha expressway (FG road) is the worst road in the state because the state Government tried her best to give her citizens the best that she can not passing blame to the FG

The man is not doing well but let's not forget the fact that the FG totally neglected eastern federal roads...move about and confirm...most death traps we call roads are in the south east especially Abia and Imo...fact.

Wow...this is a reflection of how the ministry of works is docile....How can federal roads be this very BAD So much to be done in this sector yet the Minister only chooses to speak too much grammar forgetting that it is no longer ROCKET SCIENCE to create or reconstruct durable roads!

Proactivity Leads To Productivity!

This big head of a governor is the worse thing to ever happen to Abia state. Never in my life have I seen a governor who is grossly incompetent and discombobulated.

After Orji Uzo Kalu and T.A Orji finished milking Abia, they had to also install this puppet who doesn't know his left from his right. He said he was in bondage, and that was why he didn't perform during his first tenure.

If I may ask, what has he done since he was re-elected? If not for Aba where youths can hustle and make a penny for the day, there is absolutely nothing in this backward state.

The only time he's proactive is when there is a little disturbance, he will rush and declare curfew.

I wonder who opened a Twitter account for him. He should write a request to the Federal Government and stop constituting nuisance on our cyber space.

Devil's own state!

Governor Ikpeazu is just a comedian.

Has he not seen RVSG/Wike that worked on Federal roads worth 78billion naira. And they are yet to refund him.

Ikpeazu destroyed and abandoned Port Harcourt road in Aba. Why didn't he leave as it was?

we have a long way to go as a nation.
we need to get things working in this nation ASAP.
things that suppose not to be a problem is a big problem here.
"in our government, there are three categories of people:
1)those who solve problems
2)those who just sit and watch and expect problems to solve themselves.
3)those who are the problems that needs to be urgently solved
nations having good roads, how did they do it? I seem not to understand

Nigerians, your ability to keep accepting sh*t and mediocrity from your rulers has brought y'all up to the point you guys can no longer be classified humans. Most are now sub-humans.

That attitude of always condoning sh*t from ur leaders instead of standing up to them is what keeps bringing y'all to new lower levels.

Is this a governor or an idiott talking? Igbos, pls accept a bit of shame too. We know most of u have given up on your governors but the few of you who still believe in them do not spite them publicly up to the level they deserve.

Nigeria is a shame, as in utter shame to the black world. We are meant to be setting standards as a black nation.
