Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has called on the federal government to urgently intervene in the deplorable state of federal roads in the state.

The Governor in a series of tweets via his official twitter handle @GovernorIkpeazu, noted that almost all roads linking Abia to other states are in total disrepair. He expressed concern over the untold hardship this has caused road users and business owners.

I keep saying this: Nigeria's system of govt is the worse in the history of man kind. Almost everything handled by FG is in total disaster except for Abuja. That is why this system is useless!

FG has so much money yet, states keep subsidizing workloads meant for FG while FG collects more money than states.

Anyone who loves Nigeria must support the demand to reduce the powers of the FG! The states are closer to the people than FG.

FG is just somewhere in Abuja, the states and Local Govt are closer to the people more. The states should control more wealth and real executive powers to run the affairs of their state or will simply adopt UK model of six regions!

The FG had to even send a letter to ask them to stop an ongoing works on a FG! FG controls the vital stuff that commit economy of the country, so states are surely going to depend on FG! Unfortunately, FG cant meet the needs of states! Never!

We are doing our selves if we continue with this system! We need an urgent discussion and agreement on the way forward and change this constitution. I fear for the future of this country

I will do my best to give my future kids dual citizenship! This country is not being realistic at all! The chaos in the future will be unimaginable. The one no country has ever experienced due to hunger, over population and poor education. We are sitting on a time bomb.

Federal Government doesn't need to fix Roads in the EAst. The East is not part of Nigeria, it is BIAFRAN Republic.

Abia state is a shithole. Both federal and state roads in Abia state are in a shambolic mess.
