Another added nuisance to Nigerian transportation system. Is this the future again? High carbon emissions, very poor safety features, obsolete contraption driven by lunatics.
This lubbish from India should be banned from Nigeria.
Come oo how was that accident the keke's fault na wa ooo..
even lambo dey crash it's the driver you should blame ,any how you look at it one driver must be the cause...
talk about carbon emission is it only keke that's emitting carbon, have you heard of gas flaring ,I guess not..even lambo dey emitt gas ,no dey talk shit...
before you talk on your brain iiyyaa.
the way to solve or rather reduce the rate of accidents is to properly train and educate road users before issuing licence...
we are all learning ...abeg list the poor safety features..

The Indian company is steadily making progress while some deride our own Innoson. Considering the market for tricycles in Nigeria, why can't a Nigerian company be supported to go into it's production.

Don't be surprised if in the near future, we start using Indian made vehicles or buying their used vehicles as tokumbo.
What are you saying?
As if we've not been using Tata since.

Chartey:

All these keke napeps are assembled in Nigeria by the dealers (same thing Innoson is doing) and provide employment for several thousands of Nigerians all over the country. Personally, I believe things like car manufacturing are economically unwise for most African countries. We're better off buying cheaper good quality used cars which has proven a reliable strategy over the years, but this is a discussion for another day.

Very correct! What we need to focus on 100% is food production to banish hunger from the land.

"The Bajaj RE 250 distinctly stands out because of a host of class leading features. The vehicle is powered by a 236cc DTSi engine, the biggest engine to ever come in a keke."

They made it with a stronger engine and that means it'll go faster than the previous? It's like they want to injure or ... more people.
The owners instead should have considered more safety features as an upgrade considering how it is used here. Not one that can now travel from Lagos to Ibadan.
Considering the fact that Keke is not well balanced. Them come give am top speed... Abeg o.

Anytime commercial vehicles like these are launched, it won't take long for them to be banned. Taking a clue from Gokada, after parading hundreds of new purchases of motorbikes they were banned thereafter.

Innoson should be advised to consider this keke thing.. Most Nigerians don't buy brand new cars...That's why it's very hard to find Innoson vehicles on the road. Only government officials patronise them, thanks to oil money.

On the other hand, 95% of keke owners patronise the brand new version of keke from Indian manufacturers. When you consider custom duty and the rest, a Nigerian manufacturer can never go wrong. A brand new keke from India goes for 390-450k. Take away custom duty and tax, Innoson would make a huge hit by selling at a lower price, e.g. 280k.

Tvs and Bajaj should never have been allowed to dominate our market but "contract money" would never allow these barbaric politicians think like humans.

Ban, ban, ban is all wicked thinking humans like you can suggest. You think those in the business of riding it wished that for themselves?
If it gets banned what do you suggest those that loose their daily income from it do? I guess hijacking u and that dead scrap you call your car would be a good start.

Bros... How do you know I have a car? grin
Either ways, I never meant a ban without the provision of alternatives. I remember I once wrote on provision of shared taxi as an alternative to keke cos they keep scratching cars on a daily basis because of their impatience.

Please don't judge before getting to know someone. God bless you.

That is the sad thing

India is better than innoson in anyway.

But they will command a much greater share in Nigeria
