This simply spells out something that there's indeed what these guys are afraid of, I don't know what it is but just wishing I knew.

Openbusiness:
Yes, very simple EXCEPT unfortunately for the Army, Sanwo Olu DENIED inviting them, which the Army themselves said they are not happy about, they are not happy Sanwo Olu didn't cover up for them, they want to throw him under the bus, but their plan FAILED grin

But the same Army is saying they are not happy Governor Sanwo Olu DENIED inviting them to toll gate, and then they are saying Buhari authorized their deployment at the same time. So who should we now believe: Nigerian Army or......... Nigerian Army grin? They gave out 2 different stories for themselves. Their sense of wuru wuru is too much grin

You don't understand what he said very well, probably because you didn't read the article with an open mind.

Following the breakdown of law& Order, the Governor invited the Military to restore Law & Order in the whole of Lagos State (not just Lekki) but this request can only be granted by an approval of the President who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Sanwo Olu can only make requests, approval to such is from the commander-in-chief.
Yes, BUT Army can also be deployed without Sanwo Olu making any requests. Make I tell u sumtin, na Lagos me I dey oh. Lagos is the only unique State in Nigeria that has its own exclusive security apparatus DIFFERENT from the normal or usual FG police / army setup and formations for each State. That's why Lagos has a LAGOS STATE SECURITY TRUST FUND, to cater and fund its own exclusive internal security structure. This internal security structure consists of various members of existing FG security forces, including the Army. And Lagos State pays them salaries different from the Salary they collect from FG, which means those officers involved get DOUBLE SALARIES each month, and that's why most of them love to be deployed to Lagos and to work as part of Lagos State Security Structure. And especially because in most cases, Lagos State even pays them BETTER salaries than what they get from the federal government.

Now, as per the Army units involvement in the Lagos State Internal Security Structure, for Lagos / Army, you have OP MESA, they are the military formation unit working exclusively to augment, complement and actively participate in the Lagos internal security. And OP MESA doesn't sit in the barracks waiting for orders from Abuja. They patrol the length and breath of Lagos State every day based on being part of Lagos State Internal Security and they are the ones Lagos State would have MADE REQUEST for during any serious security crisis in Lagos.

Had it been OP MESA that was deployed to the Lekki toll gate that night to drive away the peaceful protesters, then it would have been clear without doubt that LASG had a hand in the deployment, that they made the request. But it wasn't OP MESA, it was 81 Division, one of the top 5 most powerful formations of the Nigerian Army. And then Sanwo Olu publicly said FORCES BEYOND THEIR (LASG) CONTROL. Now, the Army is saying they are not happy Sanwo denied requesting for them, which means Sanwo DENIED his government didn't put in the request. So, do the Math. All fingers point to Abuja for BOTH the REQUEST and DEPLOYMENT.

If Lagos wanted to deploy soldiers, it would have been OP MESA. So don't be quick to fall for FG propaganda. They were expecting Sanwo Olu will cover up for them, but how can he? He can't cover for such a thing na, it will destroy his political career. The FG should carry their cross by themselves.
