In as much I quite agree with you but is it possible to put an end to a union activities that is backed up by a national law in a state ?

Edo state dealt with this same issues using Common sense, law and collaboration. Taxes are now being collected from market woman and drivers using technology, a law was also passed stopping the community youths from harassing those who buy lands or build houses and the palace endorsed this firmly.

Lagos can learn from Edo.

Of all unions in Nigeria, NURTW is the most rugged and useless of them all .

They're are political tools for our politicians hence, it can never be scrapped and government doesn't want to regulate or checkmate their activities either.
That's my fear. Scrapping them will be pretty difficult if not totally impossible since they are tools used by politician to win elections

Reorganizing the union is not a bad thing but scraping is a No No

Agberos need to be deported back to their state, after NURTW is disbanded, they constitute nuiscance, both on the road, and during elections. Government should round them up, and drop them in their states. We operate federal system, a government must implement laws to secure the state. Lagos must secure its internal borders, too many hoodlums are coming into Lagos to steal kill and destroy, and run back to their bush and hide, our borders should be tightened, anyone coming into Lagos, should be scrutinized, and checked, too many nuiscance arecoming into lagos, this must stop. Lagos state government should institute an armed coast guard, this will deter those robbers, that escape through the lagoon. Sanwo Olu do the right thing sir, disband this agbero group, it does not fit into mega city plan. Why are we paying money to Oluomo, who is he?

It's not bad, Oluku. It's just that politics have been used to develop lagos. You could use your low life mentality to ascertain why the other ports ain't as open as that of Lagos. The Igbos are treated badly in all round and all in all, they are still force to contend with in terms of wealth.

Lagos should immediately reform activity of Nurtw like a modern state fee should be collected only in park just one one ticket in a day and can be use on mainland one ticket for island
70 percent revenue to direct government purse 30 percent to run the union and officers collecting should be paid salaries
It is illegal for mc oluomo to be collecting taxes that local government should acrue, yes other nations have union, but their union do not collect public revenue, what mc oluomo is doing in conniaviance with APC bosses in Lagos is daylight diversion of public funds. Union are in every country to fight for the drivers and transporters rights, but unions do not collect public local government revenue...this is nonsense, only in Nigeria will this broad day light criminality be accepted. Mc oluomo using tax payers money to live large...very illegal ish. NURTW should be disbanded and EFCC should investigate him, to return the public loot, the people eyes have open.

NURTW I only see them as tax collectors and nothing more...
The government needs to regulate and checkmate them for effectiveness and also give them regular seminars, workshops and how to maintain cordial relationship with drivers and passengers on our roads cos they are very poor in that regard all they know is to collect money and if the drivers refuse to pay it resort to fight most times....
NURTW should not be scrapped but reorganized for better and more effectiveness..

True but the point am trying to make is that states can move to amend the law it if it isn't fit for the state... it's a federal system, no one is more superior than the other, if the federal fails to do the needful the state governors can move in to do it for the betterment of their states

NURTW is not collecting any public money, they collect dues from their members, not from the public and the last time I checked, all the associations in Nigeria from journalist to medical, engineering associations collect dues from their members on top of whatever they pay in taxes to their respective state and local governments.

Regardless of your hatred for MC, whatever any association or private entity like the NURTW pay their members is their business, not yours or public funds.

I don't see you Igbos cry, rant and shout over the NURTW in your states of about how much they are paying NURTW members in your states.

You people just can not get over your blatant hatred hypocrisy and tribalism.
