Just like it is with women.
If these policemen want to go, the IGP should let them go. "Never beg who doesn't want to be with you to be with you."

Agbamuche learnt the hard way that when a woman tells you that she is fed up; you should neither try to beg, coerce, blackmail or cajole her to stay back when he found out that the pastor whom he begged to counsel her on the importance and sanctity of marriage was the father of their 3rd child.

The IGP should not be scared.
The truth is that; even if all these policemen choose to retire today, there are many of us who are willing to pick up their batons and guns and replace them at those checkpoints collecting every 50 naira bribe with the truest diligence.

IGP you are suppose to be the one to resign. not the junior officers. you and other high rank officers are the reasons the system is not working the way it should be. give the police officers what is due to them you won't. you still give them target on the amount of money they will be remitting to you everyday. how do you want them to get the money? that is the reason why they collect the money from the public.

. Talk is cheap. But you have forgotten that you will go for training for six months for junior cadre and 18 months for senior cadre.
Moreover, without reforms in NPF, new intakes will still like the others

Nigerians are actually angry at the way Police officers carry out their duties. People are supposed to feel safe at the sight of the police but the reverse is the case. The Police became a means of oppression for the ordinary citizen and always wanting to extort at any given opportunity. NIGERIANS just became tired of the whole thing including indiscriminat
e killing of unarmed citizens.

What we operate in Nigeria is Government oriented policing not people's oriented police. Constitutional amendments and desired reforms will lunch NPF to people's oriented police Force.
The NPF can not change/ reform themselves without the enabling law, so put your blames on the government not the NPF

“There is no amount of talk that will assuage the anger of policemen. We are very angry. Many of my colleagues tendered their resignation, but they are not accepting it. The morale is terribly low. Our officers were dehumanised. Some were killed. Many of us don’t have offices anymore. Nigerians should ask us to go if they don’t need police anymore. Are we not also Nigerians? Why should we be treated like animals?” an officer fumed.
