There's no developer that can change design plan without development control insiders, because you need there are approver when casting your columns, slap even starting the foundation. It's just that those guys that did the package in development control aren't in the position again to defend the developer.

Its simply impossible for Nigerians to obey the rules. Who do us this way?
Now everybody is shouting demolition and nobody is asking why the complex was not built with approval or according to the appoved plans.
I saw a guy tagging Hillary Clinton, New York City was built strictly according to approved plan.
Lets hold ourselves accountable and then face our leaders.

If you have EVER interacted with development control in Abuja, you would know that someone in development control has collected money to change the designated car park to business concern or else the building would not have had the ground floor converted to shops.
Even if you are building in the most remote areas, development control locates you, STOP WORK is boldly painted on your structure, and you can't progress until you 'settle'.
They should tell us what the real issue is.

I agree with u, It's always good to hear two sides of a matter , Nigerians simply jump into conclusion without investigating what really happened. I am sure some of them did not even watch the video, they never even found out if theyou were served noticed. Not everything we see or hear is true.I believe most Nigerians are easily deceived, lots of fake news in the air and it is always good to be able to find out the truth .

Handsomecole:
Some Nigerians like to cry foul and it's one of the reasons why the Government wants to regulate social media.

No1 is I am 101% sure that AMAC would have served them demolition notices or even quit notice before now.

No2 Lands in Abuja have already have the design of buildings which you must adhere to. But Nigerians don't like to obey the rules and when the Government clamps they begin to cry for needless sympathy.

No3 ; They were not even trying to demolish the building the space down was emarked as a parking space.

This is insanity and pure wickedness....
The ground floor was approved for car park, but the developer went ahead and converted it to shops, where is the wickedness here? We doing follow the right things, in future if there is building collapse we start looking for who to blame.

Who gave them license to operate in the first place? You allowed them to operate or break the law why will they not challenge such actions? In usa , UK or other sane climes they will not grant access to operate or will not allow you to operate or give license.

You definitely are in the know of what happened.

Segkem2013:
Stop screaming as the columns are left intact. I'm sure a notice would have been served earlier. Most developers are greedy and tend to deviate from the approved uses. Most malls and plazas in Abuja lack adequate parking lot. They submit a drawing indicating the ground floor as parking lot and later convert them to shops during construction with shop owners and customers parking anywhere available.

And you wouldn’t understand because you’ve probably never lived in a country where folks are law abiding...
Instead in Nigeria, the prevailing mentality is “mine own is different”, and practically everyone acts with impunity.

This is the kind of Abuja we want.

Developmental control is doing a great job striking terror into those who are hellbent in making the city an anthill.

Like what they did in Utako village. But like an anthill the termites are slowly coming back. Thr place is gradually returning to its shanty status.

On whose part, the promoters or the authorities. On which side of the law do you stand?... or you wish to side with some who want the country law free... everyone living by his or her own standards, aka anarchy.

We tasted a few days of democracy by the hoodlums and most Nigerians were running for the hills...

Why I said that is because, they didn't allow the traders to remove their goods and you can hear someone saying people are still inside the building, how will you feel if it was your building that is being destroyed.

And that's why people should still be occupying an unapproved building? Most of you are the problem Nigeria have. You all wish to live in UK and USA but have forgotten those places have their strict laws that everyone abide by. Those glittering skyscrapers in NY wasn't built unapproved.

Nigerians are the major problem of Nigeria.
Even if US and UK wants to demolished and unauthorized building they make sure to evacuate everybody in the building and also verify that the building is empty b4 demolition.

It's even because of failure of the govt that why there are many unapproved building in Nigeria. No proper town planning. Abi na citizen still dey plan town?

US citizen are even more stubborn and annoying than Nigerians, yet their govt don't misbehave like Nigeria govt.

U are not smart at all

You that's very smart should know a typical Nigerian don't want to die but want to go to heaven. Our leaders were once citizens. That's the same mindset someone like you will take to power if voted in. Abeg shift...
