1. Understand that he’s still going to need his space and privacy.

Just because you get into a relationship together doesn’t mean that he’s going to want to immediately spend ALL of his time with you. He’s still going to want his time for himself. He’s still going to want to maintain his individuality. And that means he’s going to ask for some space and privacy sometimes – and you’re going to have to be willing to give it to him.
2. Be accepting of his flaws and imperfections.

He’s not always going to be perfect. He’s not always going o be doing the right thing. He’s not always going to make the correct decisions. And that’s when you have to make sure that you love him even more. You have to make him feel like you won’t abandon him just because he’s wrong sometimes.
3. Make him feel safe to express himself.

You should always have a strong communication game going on in your relationship

. And you can’t really have a good communication game if you don’t make him feel safe to express himself. You need to make him feel like it’s okay for him to speak his mind and speak his heart. You can’t scare him into thinking that he shouldn’t be expressing himself.
4. Show an interest in his passions and hobbies.

You should always show him that you’re interested in getting to know him and connecting with him in whatever way you can. That’s why it’s always good to develop even just a little interest in his passions and hobbies. At least it shows him that you’re always willing to make an effort to really connect and bond with him.
5. Make him feel supported in the pursuit of his dreams.

Through it all, relationships should always feel like partnerships. And that’s why your man always has to feel like you support him through his dreams. You have to let him know that you always have his back; that you’re always going to be there for him even when he feels like he’s at his lowest.
6. Show a willingness to compromise with him.

You aren’t always going to be able to see eye to eye with him on everything.

You’re not always going to seamlessly agree on every single issue that your relationship encounters. And that’s why you’re both going to need to be willing to compromise every once in a while. You’re not always going to get your way; that’s when you need to meet each other halfway.

At the end of the day, no relationship is going to be perfect. You are going to have your fair share of problems and you’re not going to get everything right along the way. And that’s okay. No one expects you to run things perfectly. No one expects you to always do the right thing.

However, that’s not a problem. You are always going to have to learn things as you go along the way. You just have to make sure that you keep an open mind and an open heart. Love alone isn’t going to be enough to solve the problems in your relationship. You’re going to need a lot of patience, understanding, compassion, humility, effort, and commitment. You can only try to make the best of whatever situation you’re in. And you just have to hope that that’s going to be enough.
