Kudos to the Government of Nigeria and our great people for striving harder even in the face of adversity.

A good news for patriotic Nigerian citizens is a bad news for enemies of this country.
Kudos to yourself and family for refusing to see the pains of this country Nigeria...but rather chose to cover evil.

Nobody is playing victim here and I'm not giving excuses! I'm just telling it as it's. This is evil. You're describing it as normal business practices. What's is normal about using your underhand links to prop-up rulers in your former colonies, then use their offices to impose business laws that favour your businesses at the expense of those countries? British oil companies activities in the Nigerian oil sector are basically not monitored because of the corrupt administrative set up in this country that the British helped to set up and defend vigorously at every turn. They get involved in our elections in very humiliating ways. Cameron almost holding a gun to Jonathan's head to hand over!

Now we're left with this eternaly blundering president and all they do, is to sit back in their country to laugh at us. They're utilizing their political tentacles in this country since the colonial days to wreck havoc! If our relationship with them can't be straightened up in a way that each other's interests are duly respected, they should be told to stay clear. The country has paid enough deus to Britain for all her "civil war help". It's now time to use Nigerias resources to help Nigerians. It's starting to look like there's nothing profoundly beneficial in our so-called "cordial relationship" with the British. Heads or tails, we are loosing..

Please why can't Nigeria use political tentacles to wreck havoc in UK? These days there are so many Nigerians in UK with many in leadership roles..... you are just blaming the British for your woes. Why can't Nigeria and Nigerians in UK pass laws to favor Nigeria. Don't forget ur the person migrating to their country and going to receive medical treatment there. Basically stop blaming others for your woes

This is just consolation. Over 60% of population live in abject poverty... for 60 years post independence the country is doing badly.... misery loves company.... just because you saw a few glitches in the US system which is a federation of 52 countries you want to quickly latch onto that for company. A better comparison would be Nigeria and the US State of Texas, State of California, UK or Sweden.

You proberbly the only third world nation comparing yourselves to a first world nation. No one else do that. Not the Europeans. They do not judge you as lacking potential, that's why they call you " developing nation". There is a lot pack into their success both accepted truth and denying ones.

Europe is a finish state of many conquest over centuries. Italy was a former empire, Soviet or Russian a Titan, Vikings sweden once dominated Europe. England was a world power that stretch as far as Africa. America fought many world wars and made several conquest. How many spoils of wars( materially and idealogically) do you think is part of their now "accumulated" wealth.

How many societies have you been able to steal from?
.even America blacks was taken from Africa. The fit strong black men taken to work for a different colony against their will. Slavery was consistent across all European/ Western society.

Who have you dominated?. Who have you stolen human/ idealogically as well as material wealth from?

Let's not compare things this way. Neither many of you know the history of the world to be making this arguments. Taking the last 60 yrs of your existence to compare with entities that have been existence for centuries, is like vaguely comparing a 16 yrs old with a fifty yrs old for life experiences.

To other Africans we are not performing badly. You must win your local leagues before you project yourselves to the international stage.

Africans love playing victim.... no one stole from Africa goods and services exchanged hands for slaves, or bater. Even if Africa was stolen from they were too dumb and inferior to defend themselves against the threats?

Your last paragraph proves it all. Nigeria/ Africa had existed between 1000 and 1700. Slavery picked up I believe in the 1800s so the black man was too docile against defending themselves from being conquered.

Funniest thing I have ever read.

It is like saying, " Despite being bad, you are not the worst" Try telling a lady that despite being very ugly she still remains the most attractive among her friends. grin

And some people cannot read through the backhanded compliments.

Britain CREATED Nigeria. Thats the sad reality! It doesn't excuse our underachievements, but it sort of put things into a clearer perspective! Britain moulded this country, ruled it over half a century directly, handed over to their favorite slaves and has been pulling strings from afar ever since. As it regards influencing British politics, that's very possible. But most times, You just can't punch above your weight. Maybe if we did well administratively in building up this country, we can be in a position to influence politics in Britain. Some of her former colonies in Asia, like India or Pakistan can.. But it's a little different here. Personally, I believe that colonialism and neo-colonialism in Africa have always been tainted with base racism when compared to such acts elsewhere.. That's a story for another day shaaa

trying to act tough and strong.

Conquest is a natural human behavior.
It was not consistent with Africa alone. England raided and conquered other European nation's. So did the romance..men with the biggest swords rules. The world has not always been a civilized place.

Up till now America is rulling because they have the biggest bomb. Yes the biggest nuclear warheads belongs to them. They can afford to invade Iraq..even though they did not find any destructive weapon, they were not sanction. How many other stuff like that do you think they pull off without your knowledge and got away..did I mention libya.

If you say we being rule over was our choice, was it the choice of the Jews that be slaughtered by Hitler or the choice of ghadafi to be killed like a dog in his own country.

Naive. Bullying is a human behavior. They still raid Egypt for their acheological wealth till this day. Can you go to Egypt to collect their knowledge. What about our benin arts.

There were no cameras to tell what went down back then. You don't want to know what will happen when you standing in the way of men who are hell bend on world dominance.

Dont be deceived. UK envoy doesnt know anything. She is probably using GDP to compare instead of real GDP. If use GDP to compare of course Nigeria will be the fastest growing because of inflation but when compared to base year, you see the real picture

How have you idealogically rational people defend yourselves against being conquered by the ideologies of of the west yourselves. Since we are in the subject of conquest.

You are writing in their language, wearing their clothes. Your women even wear their hair on top of their head. and even you send your children as willing slave to them. Were is your own strength.

The UK govt was responsible for the halt of Christianity spreading in other parts of the country. They were also responsible for Islam to perpetuate Jihad in northern and middle-belt parts of Nigeria. The UK is an extremely unclean and atrocious country.

They are anti-black-progress and will always side the Fulanis to ensure the status-quo remains.[/s]

When MNK keeps saying that the problem of Nigeria is Britain, illiterate afonjas keep insulting him. The same Britain kept equipping and training SARS despite numerous human rights violation. The same Britain used BBC to lie to the whole world that soldiers shot in the air.

What many nigerians don't understand is that Britain does not want the restructuring of Nigeria. If they did the north would have played ball. But they know if there's restructuring they will no longer be able to loot our resources freely. They only thrive on trade deficit with Nigeria rather than balance of trade.
