Plus, the state police under the guise of 'crie fighting' can be used to persecute politcial opponents and tribal and religious minoirites.

There is a reason why we have a federal police. Nigeria is not like America where someone can be born in Pennsylvania and die a Nebraskan. Or like the UK where security means growth in the state's income (in Nigeria, the entire contri can be on fire...and the money will still flow into government coffers).

Nigeria is a land of contentious people who are fighting over a national cake....and who will use anything...including state sanctioned violence to acheive that aim.

Besides, almost all African countries don't have state police.
