Lagos-based electronic sports organization, League of Extraordinary Gamers Ltd in collaboration with TECNO Mobile today held Nigeria's first ever Players Unknown Battleground PUBG Mobile gaming competition at the Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi Lagos.

The event was dedicated to promote E-sport and digital culture in Nigeria. Speaking at the event Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare gave the official government nod to esports, by declaring it a national sport and acknowledging its potential and place among Nigeria’s youth as well as the potential positive impact on the Nigerian economy as a whole.

Forty-two teams registered for LECO qualifiers which saw the final eight teams converge at the Alliance Francaise – Mike Adenuga Centre in Ikoyi. Over 42 TECNO devices including the new POVA were made available for the players to battle it out. The eight teams will represent eight different cities in Lagos to see which one becomes the very first ‘Legend’ in Lagos.

Below are pictures from the event.

Him be confirm agbaya...can't imagine how those chinkos will be mocking blacks. They gave them something that will never let them think what difference can they make. Funny enough, may be after he competition, the winner goes home with the new phone as his prize, he will then proceed to any of his social media accounts typing "more wins." Tufiaka...

They see us as subhuman already, not deserving of standard phones, can they export these nonsense overseas?. Again, no interaction between audience and players, what's now the use? Players dey play game, audience dey press phone. It's good that he wore a cap & facemask, they would have trolled the life out of him.

Well... Tecno gave us the best they have, and we made something out of it. Although it could be better and I don't think There's any high-end smartphone company that's deep in the Nigerian market than Xiaomi, the rest are focused elsewhere. The closest we can come close to is Xiaomi, we hope to see better sponsors next year tho.

Hmmm...I smelled rat.
If you get enough sense, you will see that my post didn't address that thread per se. I was only pointing to how blacks are showing every sign that they are always inferior, and we are very proud of that. What have we done to contribute to how our planet has evolved today, the technology, science, even agriculture, what is our role?. We have to depend on someone somewhere else to do all we need to do. Playing games is great for brain, but I see beyond what you saw in that picture, that is the little difference between us.

And to answer your question that "what have I achieved". Nothing, absolute nothing. Guess you got answer to your question.

"Him be confirm Agbaya" Ah Okay Nice.

Thing is, you're here undermining blacks but you're forgetting that people have to start from somewhere. It's evident that Africa is behind the world, but do you acknowledge the fact that Africa has the fastest growing techno-space??

The eSports tournament was a start and you're here undermining lmao, people have to start from somewhere my guy. Instead of down-talking them, do your part and promote their works, and think of how to engage in such.

Happy Sunday, God bless.

Na person like you go enter YouTube dey stream stream esports or watch another person play game online.

You didn't sound intelligent in your bid to sound intelligent.

This competition was put in place by League of Extraordinary Gamers, organized and hosted by PUBG Nigeria on PUBG Mobile Nigeria's discord server. Search PUBGNIGERIA on twitter to follow for more updates!
A series of prequalification rounds featuring different teams until the best 8 got to play in the first LAN PUBG Mobile event in Nigeria.
Kudos to TECNO, Platinum sponsors, French Embassy in Nigeria, Redbull Gaming, PopcentralTV (was aired on DSTV)!

First place went home with 120K cash prize, Second place 80K and Third place 50K, every other team that participated went home with 10K each.
Young or old anyone can play mobile games so don't look at anyone as "Agbaya". People make money off playing mobile games through participation in competitions, sponsorship and other ways too. And FYI, the Camon 16 with the Helio G90T (12nm processor) was able to handle the 3 games they played over the competition. It's a mid range device so still give credit to TECNO even though it obviously doesn't compare with other "Flagship" variants.
