A common smear is that ''we don't manufacture common toothpicks''.

I mean, this is a statement that shows gross ignorance and foolishness, because Nigeria has thousands of factories across the country, manufacturing everything from 'toothpicks' to chemicals to pharmaceuticals to steel products, to computer tablets, to SUVs, to jet fighter spare parts and armoured personnel carriers!

So why would a Nigerian come out and say ''we don't manufacture common toothpicks''?
