I'm beginning to think that church is scam, may God have mercy on me if what I'm thinking is wrong but, I just got back from a Thanksgiving Sunday, everything is so discouraging, how can they ask for money, money, money and don't give back to society.
For example if you meet them for financial assistance they will say hope on the Lord and they will pray for you, but when they need, they will collect from members, I don't understand.
When I was a teenager (though it was white garment church) you will see as they will cook for everyone and even share items, buying and selling of items, it was fun and everyone was happy, but these days Pentecostal it's all about " bring your tithe, bring your vow, bring your seed, bring your salary, bring your gold, " please I need some encouragement to continue coz it's becoming annoying, I thought giving should come from the heart, this one now is forceful giving, please house what is the way forward.

The Churches have historically experienced issues involving bad practices, etc.... (churches in the Apostle Paul's day, the churches in Asia Minor in the Revelations, etc).
They have persisted to the present day, but know that "For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?" - 1 Peter 4:17
Having stated all this, it is important to "...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;" - Philippians 2:12
Of course not relying on our works, but on the work of GOD / the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, and His unearned grace! |

This covid-19 saga opened my eyes oo. hunger dey and they dey give govt thieves billions of naira instead of their members. Scammers don't invent anything, they copy what is real to scam people. So you need to identify the one and only true Christian group! Matthew 7:15-20 I won't mention any name because Jesus never did but i'll refer you to the activities Jesus foretold will help honest hearted and sincere individuals IDENTIFY his group when Satan have successfully multiplied the fake!  |

No insults, matured response please Don't worry much about church bro.. Worry about God, because church is a variable, but God is a constant. Church can change but God can never change. You don't need church bro, what you need is God, so ensure that you're with God and that He's with you, and use that to determine the decisions you make and actions you take. So whatever church does or become, even if it turns to something else other than what it ought to be, it won't affect your relationship with God. I haven't been an active member of a church for close to twenty years now, yet it would be hard to find someone who's been active in the church all the while that's as close to God as I am. I discovered however that when i sat down Alone with my bible and the Holy Spirit i discovered so many errors in todays "church" Sad to say that the church as you know it was hijacked when Constantine became a Christian and set up ordinances of men. Same ordinances that the protesters took but the pentecostal have taken it to a dangerous place. They have totally derailed from the salvation story to their own stories to fill their purses. The way is indeed narrow as Yeshua won't have said that if it were not so. So many are lost. And thw deceivers will continue to deceive and themselves being deceived. My advise again. SIT DOWN ALONE WITH YOUR BIBLE AND INVITE THE HOLYSPIRIT AND STUDY THE NT FIRSTLY to understand d covenant as i find out a lack of understanding of the new covenant is a major issue Btw i have not seen the inside of a "church' in 2 years but im stronger on faith now than ave ever been since 2006 i gave my life to Him Peace |
