Just scrolled through the sap app centre and saw an app listed for 20000 USD a year in subscription. I mean man is building a Shopify app to sell for 5 USD a month in subscription and then look at this. Chei.

https://www.sapappcenter.com/en/product/display-0000041213_live_v1/Easy%20Reporter%20for%20SAP%20Payroll%20&%20SAP%20SuccessFactors

They say sap uses its own programming language called abap. The thing seems to be like a cult these days that is also hidden from others. Pcguru1 have you heard about sap before?

Yes I have, but I never followed deep into it, but now I know a friend is SAP Certified but I never looked at it because of the fee of the certificate.

It appears this niches are more profitable but in terms of jobs and projects than being a generalist web developer.

Exactly I'm gradually shifting to Native Android and also moving to Java Ecosystem.Web dev is too saturated. This is what I have been thinking, and I think you can relate with me. I believe a developer can independently set up a small shop on these foreign platforms and build products. Then once you can handle payment, you will eventually have business. Then also taking up specialised skills or some specific platform skill like these SalesForce API / Enterprise tools. I feel as African we can get advantage of the remote work factor. Because its way more cheaper for companies to outsource to us now. I'm currently trying to a small shop on Envato Market and also trying to offer specific nice services. E.g Moodle Development is old, and makes easily 700usd for simple tasks because there are not a lot of Moodle developers. If I create a Moodle theme and sell, I feel like I can walk away with 10m, because you can sell to banks and package as a MOOC, I was walking on a Moodle theme but procrastination 70% done. I documented it here on my diary, i will continue. Thats the only way I can see as a way of making money while in Nigeria remotely. I've done the analysis because freelance jobs are too stressful and takes too much time. I feel building mini products and specific skills will help earn a good developer some cash. It how's I see cash these days other than work.

I was looking to 2Checkout to see if one could use it for when you want to sell digital products. Because I plan to sell Moodle themes. Its ugly old php, but its good buck on the side.

10m might be selling it short though, I have seen Business Development team sell a fvcking CRUD app for 20m. I knew I had to get into the business side of programming.

I swear to God you have been thinking what I have been thinking. This is the advantage of freelancing. There's a very huge disconnect between what gives money in programming and what people are all learning. The things that even gives money sef there's hardly any tutorials out there. You have to breathtakingly go through documentations and continue trying and failing. I am presently building a Gatsby WordPress theme to sell on envato and once that is done I am diving deep into the salesforce ecosystem. Salesforce also has an app ecosystem like sap and there's just 3000 apps. Each paid app has a yearly revenue of around 1 million USD. Salesforce also added E commerce last year for B2B and b2c and with the acquisition of slack, it's not a giant to ignore at all. I will learn Shopify too but Shopify is mostly for small businesses. Salesforce is for enterprise level stuff but salesforce first and there's very few salesforce developers. 83 percent of the salesforce certifications given out are for Admins. Everyone is avoiding the development part of it whereas companies are looking for salesforce developers left right and centre. Extremely true about what you said. Build once, sell and maintain. And the scarcity of this niches makes it really easy to get a high paying job as a developer. Look at iOS developers. They are scarce and in turn they require really high salaries. It's the same for this niches. If a company is looking for a salesforce developer in Nigeria today, they won't get anybody and if they eventually find someone that person can charge 4 million a month as salary and nothing will happen.

Bro.... You mentioned Native Andoid....

I am presently learning android development with kotlin, but from observation, most jobs seems to be for web.
Some people have also argued that there is no need learning native when flutter/ react-native can build for both android and iOS, which is a strong point to consider.
I'm really confused right now. I don't want to learn something and just keep it by the side without making money with it.
So my question is -> are there really jobs for native andoid developers?
And please do you know of any firm one can apply for internship as a junior native android developer.
I'm still in my learning phase though.

It depends on type of developer one wants to be, React Native works alright when you need to build business app, shoulld you have performance and require strong UI Interaction with animation Flutter and Native is your bet. There is job for any skill just depends on your approach. in native Android I intend to build application with visually appealing UI and animation so I can sell. Flutter is a good platform but there will be certain tasks that will stilll require Native knowledge, no one can run away from Native even though you do RN or Flutter because when there is a specific need for a certain API, there will come a time you will need to write Native. As you can see that in React Native Plugins and Flutter.

Hell yes there is job for Native Android. but you need to build something to showcase your skills and sell. Upworks will be a good place to test your skill for commercial value. have you built any project ? Good one bro

I want to start too, we can motivate each other. My best advice create a technical journal and detail each experience it will encourage you to learn more and share once you get positive feedback from others. I'll share mine with you guys later
