You cant build this type of project without having different armies of Government Agencies all seeking to be settled. Different approvals in Lagos. But we paid them all. Just name them. Too many to name. But Glory be to God we overcame

ADVANTAGES OF MARINE PLYWOOD
1. Very Smooth to the eyes.
2. Gives people the Impression that the concrete is very strong. (But the strength of concrete is in the Mix ratio and the batching method used. And also the quantity of water added)
3. Marine Plywood can be reused and reused over and over.
4. Marine Plywood usually saves wastage of concrete
5. Marine Plywood also makes beams to be straight over a long span.

DISADVANTAGE OF MARINE PLYWOOD
1. The smoothness of the concrete surface makes it difficult for the plaster to stay. So you need to pay labour and buy cement to sprinkle to achieve a rough surface before plastering.
2. Marine plywood is expensive. Clients usually run from such except they are clients that know what they really want.

ADVANTAGES OF PLANKS (1 X 12)
1. The cost is lower compared to the cost of plywood for the same square metres
2. Almost any good carpenter can work with Planks. But it takes a highly skilled carpenter to work with marine plywood to give you a good job
3. You use less supports for planks (this is debatable since it depends on which part of the building is being worked on)
4. The surface of the Concrete is rough which is very good for plastering.

DISADVANTAGES OF PLANKS
1. Like a third portion becomes firewood that you cant reuse when you have used once and want to strip.
2. The finishing of the concrete is not smooth and so people usually think you did a low quality. If you check this 3000 Event Centre I used Planks all through based on the client's instructions. The concrete is very strong but looks rough.
3. Planks can rack and the wet concrete pour during casting except if the carpenters tie the formwork very well using binding wire and supports.

We have very long beams that span longer than the beams used for foot bridges on the Expressway. The beams are 14m span no single columns (pillars).

There are 5 of them. I used T Beams and Y20 reinforcement and did several Structural processes to ensure that they are very strong to bear the weight of the Second Floor that will come upon it. Let me warn you:
DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME

WHY MY BRAND "DAYSTAR SHELTER LTD' IS ON THE PICTURES OF THIS THREAD
I decided to add my company name to these pictures in this thread because I see so many pictures of a lot of houses especially duplexes I built in Lekki flying all over internet. And no single credit (atleast) is given to the brain who God is using to build them. For instance many Realtors place their companies names on buildings we build and even if I tell a prospective client that I built it, they would say "Not true! This building has been online under XYZ company brand". So pardon me if your see DAYSTAR SHELTER LTD on our pictures and my face emblazoned on many of them.
