@Azibalua
thanks for that link. It's about one currency being proposed for africa. We told people this things over ten years ago that they will happen, then it was like joke. The timeline is now at the feet of the image. Iron mixed with clay. It is a time of merger. Nations merge , companies merge. People that don't agree are merging. Man and man merging in marriage . Woman and woman merging . I won't be surprise if human rights and animal right finally merge In marriage. Some have actually started debating it , if human an animal can produce children together. The out come has been negative so far. But some experts are saying it could be possible if there is an animal close to human genetically but they are not too sure of baboon. Satan will stop at nothing to polite the human race so that he can bring forth his demons through legal means on the earth . The book of revelation shows it will happen. Human machines. Demons and machines.

It's all part of the system of the anti christ. It is called." Gradualism"  gradually the whole world will merge under One world Government. That's the New World order. One currency. The anti christ will be a political, economical and religious leader. Who would have thought this uprising in the Arab nations will take place. Every nation will embrace democracy. They will be weak. Government will loose hold on people. Crisis will take place for that evil man to be accepted by all.

But the church will prosper. Before the rapture of the church. The church will dominate.

Daniel 2:44(Amplified)
44 And in the days of these[ final ten] kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people; but it shall break and crush and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever.

Praise God, this is a prophecy of the church by Daniel in that interpretation of the the reams of king Nebuchadnezzer.

There are some other mind blowing prophecies in Daniel 7 and Daniel 8

May I suggest that Nebuchadnezzar's dream falls into a mythological pattern for describing history that is found not only in the middle east but all over the world.

The are often called the four ages of man and are always labelled, Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age.

The earliest written accounts of such a description of history is to be found in Hesiod's Work and Days.  Hesiod lived in the 8th century BC.  That is some 600 years before the book of Daniel was written.

Hesiod's Five Ages
Lucas Cranach the Elder, The Silver Age
Virgil Solis, The Iron Age

The first extant account of the successive ages of mankind comes from the Greek poet Hesiod's Works and Days (lines 109-201):

    * Golden Age - The Golden Age is the only age that falls within the rule of Kronus. It is said that people lived among the gods, and freely mingled with them. Peace and harmony prevailed during this age. Humans did not have to work to feed themselves, for the earth provided food in abundance. They lived to a very old age but with a youthful appearance and eventually died peacefully. Their spirits live on as "guardians". Plato in Cratylus (397 e) recounts the golden race of men who came first. He clarifies that Hesiod did not mean men literally made of gold, but good and noble. He describes these men as daemons upon the earth. Since δαίμονες (daimones) is derived from δαήμονες (daēmones, meaning knowing or wise), they are beneficent, preventing ills, and guardians of mortal men.

    * Silver Age - The Silver Age and every age that follows fall within the rule of Cronus' successor and son, Zeus. Men in the Silver age lived for one hundred years under the dominion of their mothers. They lived only a short time as grown adults, and spent that time in strife with one another. During this Age men refused to worship the gods and Zeus destroyed them for their impiety. After death, humans of this age became "blessed spirits" of the underworld.

    * Bronze Age - Men of the Bronze Age were hard. War was their purpose and passion. Not only arms and tools, but their very homes were forged of bronze. The men of this age were undone by their own violent ways and left no named spirits but dwell in the "dank house of Hades". It came to an end with the flood of Deucalion.

    * Heroic Age - The Heroic Age is the one age that does not correspond with any metal. It is also the only age that improves upon the age it follows. In this period men lived with noble demigods and heroes. It was the heroes of this Age who fought at Thebes and Troy. This race of humans died and went to Elysium.

    * Iron Age - Hesiod finds himself in the Iron Age. During this age humans live an existence of toil and misery. Children dishonor their parents, brother fights with brother and the social contract between guest and host (xenia) is forgotten. During this age might makes right, and bad men use lies to be thought good. At the height of this age, humans no longer feel shame or indignation at wrongdoing; babies will be born with gray hair and the gods will have completely forsaken humanity: "there will be no help against evil."

[edit] Ovid's Four Ages

The Roman poet Ovid (1st century BC - 1st century AD) tells a similar myth of Four Ages in Book 1.89-150 of the Metamorphoses. His account is similar to Hesiod's with the exception that he omits the Heroic Age.

Ovid emphasizes the justice and peace that defined the Golden Age. He adds that in this age, men did not yet know the art of navigation and therefore did not explore the larger world.

In the Silver Age, Jupiter introduces the seasons and men consequentially learn the art of agriculture and architecture.

In the Bronze Age, Ovid writes, men were prone to warfare, but not impiety.

Finally, in the Iron Age, men demarcate nations with boundaries; they learn the arts of navigation and mining; they are warlike, greedy and impious. Truth, modesty and loyalty are nowhere to be found.
[edit] Historicity of the Ages

These mythological ages are sometimes associated with historical timelines. In the chronology of Saint Jerome the Golden Age lasts ca. 1710 to 1674 BC, the Silver Age 1674 to 1628 BC, the Bronze Age 1628 to 1472 BC, the Heroic Age 1460 to 1103 BC, while Hesiod's Iron Age was considered as still ongoing by Saint Jerome in the 4th century AD[1].

That means you don't believe in the bible . You trust human theories more. Thesame book of Daniel predicted the exact year Jesus would be born and the exact year he would be killed. And it came to pass exactly. Is that a fable tale also.

Believing in the bible has nothing to do with this. What I am questioning is your interpretation (and the Jehovah Witness interpretation) of this biblical passage.

You say that Iron and Clay represent the modern world democracies and they will lead to one world government. Then you twist and squeeze history so that it fits into your schema that you've interpreted from the scripture.

^^^exactly!
Besides, the book of Daniels is considered to be a classical case of prophecy after fact. The writer is an obscure guy writting under the guise of falsehood.

Daniel 9:24-26
24 "The Lord has commanded 490 years of further punishment upon Jerusalem and your people. Then at last they will learn to stay away from sin, and their guilt will be cleansed; then the kingdom of everlasting righteousness will begin, and the Most Holy Place in the Temple will be rededicated, as the prophets have declared. 25 Now listen! It will be 49 years plus 434 years from the time the command is given to rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One comes! Jerusalem's streets and walls will be rebuilt despite the perilous times.

26 "After this period of 434 years, the Anointed One will be killed, his kingdom still unrealized . . . and a king will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the Temple. They will be overwhelmed as with a flood, and war and its miseries are decreed from that time to the very end.

When jesus was born , the jews had about 40 and half years remaining in their countdown. Jesus recievd the holyghost at age 30. They had about 10and half year remaining. Jesus ministered for 3and half years and was killed. They have only 7 years remainig. God had to put a stop to the countdown. The 7years is still on hold now. God now shifted his attention from isreal and opened the door of salvation to we the Gentiles. After our rapture to heaven , God will resume the count down of the remaining seven years for them, but this time it will 7 year of tribulation. The Antichrist will make treaty between Jews and Arab for the 7years and finally break it. The great tribulation will be on

27. . , This king will make a seven-year treaty with the people, but after half that time, he will break his pledge and stop the Jews from all their sacrifices and their offerings; then, as a climax to all his terrible deeds, the Enemy shall utterly defile the sanctuary

LOOOLL which Anointed One? Simon of Perea, Barchobas, and 7yrs held? wasn't Jesus purpose/kingdom fulfilled by dying on the cross?
|this is mere cherrypicking

@kay
Read verse 26 again 26 "After this period of 434 years, the Anointed One will be killed, his kingdom still unrealized . .

That's with regards to the Jews . He came to fulfil the kingdom in them and through them but they rejected him. So he turned to us Gentiles . But after the time of the Gentiles is over ,God will continue his calendar with Israel but it will be with pain for them this time.
Re: Who Wrote The Bible And Why It Matters by Kay17: 6:21pm On Mar 29, 2011
^^the messiahs I have mentioned all rose against the Roman installed govt and were all martyrs. Jesus as being omniscience would not have hung on a plan that would fail! Besides the Jewish denial of Jesus, wasn't that suppose to form the core of Jesus story?

Is there any reason why this should be seriously viewed as a credible interpretation of the Dream? ? ?

The dream spoke about world dominion, and you seek to rebutt that by talking about pedantic geographical trifles. The Arabs must be accounted for, you say. . . what about Assyria etc. If i didn't know you better i would mistake that for stand up comedy. All of these are neither here nor there and betray a loss of focus on the essentials being conveyed.

I think this is another attempt to take some minority opinion (and who knows what the motivation is) to discredit what has been proved correct for thousands of years. There wasn't any mention of the sources of these claims, but I looked around a bit and found some sources of the same ilk.

These sources indicated a different tone then Paul's other letters. This can be explained just as easy by the knowledge of other scholars, who show that Paul was older and was speaking to a single person not a group as before. Without solid evidence all that is left is to believe what the writer as said. And further what would be the motivation to lie? The society back then is not the same as today. Paul was in trouble with popular thought as Christianity seems to be becoming today.

By the way, Rome fell because the were internally weak and had become immoral. There was always outside pressure on Rome, they just couldn't hold it together any longer.
