The Cordinator, Franco – AE-FUNAI Scholarship Collaboration, Prof. Nnenna Nwosu- Nworuh, on Monday, 14th December, 2020, presented Dr. Obinna Osuji, who just returned after his academic sojourn to France, to the Vice- Chancellor, Prof Chinedum Nwajiuba, who in turn, presented him to the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Emeritus Prof. Nimi Briggs, in the presence of the Registrar, Odisa Okeke(Mrs) and other Council members at the Senate Chamber.

According to Prof. Nnenna, Dr. Osuji, who bagged Ph.D in Organic Chemistry, left the shores of Nigeria to study Organic Chemistry at the University of Bordeaux in 2016, and is of the Department of Chemistry, AE-FUNAI. She further informed her audience that Dr. Osuji is the second FRANCO- AE-FUNAI Scholar to defend his Ph. D and that two others are expected back after defending their work within the month.

Prof. Nwajiuba expressed joy that Dr. Obinna Osuji went out there to study, did well and came back to give back to the university. He urged him to ensure that all the knowledge he has acquired will be effectively applied to benefit his students and the society.

The Pro-Chancellor, Emeritus Prof. Briggs said that FRANCO – AE-FUNAI collaboration is one of the good things happening in the University and encouraged staff who are given the opportunity, to ensure they go to study seriously and come back, instead of running away to other countries, where living conditions may not be better. He congratulated him and wished him well.
