Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos 

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation on Tuesday said  northerners have been in control since the attainment of Nigeria's independence in 1960 because the Southerners are not united and indisciplined.


In a post on his social media handles, Fani-Kayode said unlike the North, Southerners do not value unity and cannot achieve anything meaningful as a divided region.

If this trend continues, he said Southerners will continue to be slaves to northerners in the next 100 years.

He said "The power of Northern Nigeria lies in the fact that, despite their internal differences, the people of that region are united when it comes to achieving their political aspirations in the wider Nigerian state. That is why they have been in control since 1960". 

"Southerners do not value unity and neither do they recognise the wisdom, virtues and power that lie in it. 

"That is why they always lose and end up whining about persecution, ill-treatment, ill-fortune and marginalisation".

"It is Southern indiscipline, weakness and lack of foresight more than anything else that has given rise to Northern supremacy and hegemony in the Nigerian state".

"It follows that Southern leaders, who spend all their time and days trying to undermine and destroy one another rather than forge a common front, are the greatest architects of the failures and ultimate doom of their own people". 

"It is not the north that made us second class citizens in our motherland: we alone must take the blame for that because deep down we hate, despise and resent one another"

"Until the south is united and until Southern leaders stand together as one the South will continue to lose to the North in the power configuration in Nigeria. This is the bitter truth". 

"Until we stop seeing an Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw or Uruhobo man and instead begin to see a Southern man in his place, we are not going anywhere and neither can we achieve anything". 

"Southern unity is a precondition or condition precedent to Southern emancipation. Without it,  we shall all be slaves for the next 100 years" he said.

Does the South recognise it's been enslaved. So much so that Niger is been pulled in with opening stretching towards Northern African to dominate and weaken other tribes.

From the railway to all fulanis can come into the country, to numerous dodgy deals dragging Niger into the country are mere schemes to solidify strength of a tribe over others.


If only the south can look objectively..

If by Southern unity means supporting Tinubu to become President in 2023, I’m afraid , the North will have my vote.

Yes, the fact that Nigeria will disintegrate with a united South will keep the North on their toes to work to either preserve the unity of Nigeria or to compete as a region, which ultimately means progress..

So far yoruba muslim still exist,south will never unite,They prefer northern muslim to yoruba christians,talk more of other southerners.

Never will there be any unity between baby people and sane people, the same set of people that produce babies for ritualism, the same set of people that 12 of them with their nyamiri language scammed me at Alaba, no unity between sane people and heartless Ozulubu church massacre, drug and human traffickers, no unity can exist between Anambra fathers incest rapists, no relationship between light and darkness, the same set of people that a whole governor of Rivers State accused of criminality, a group that their leaders, political and traditional rulers are so timid and sickly to come and condemn the killing of their people, what unity or benefit is derived from people that are political inconsequential.

Truth is that the South is very United with no deliberate strategy to disorganise the Northern unity. Meanwhile, the North is not as United as we believe it down south but they constantly plan to disorganise any elements of Unity by any means possible at their disposal.

North also uses Islam with its attendant Evils that have no match worldwide in terrorism, jihad and plain deception to gain powers as against Christians who through Love, truthfulness, Peace and laws of the land can't go far in worldly politics

Shameless aboki ,see how desperate you are old fool,nothing you mention here is worse than the terrorist ravaging your region , kidnapping your children I bet you cannot even go to your village up north and sleep with your two eyes closed ,focus on your endangered region and leave south alone..

He is obviously referring to the political elites, not the enslaved populace of covering the geographical area.
