What do you use and can the same order work for natural hair?

Yes, those same things can work for natural. By the way, how's your hair growing?

Very well and fast. People keep asking me what I use. Sometimes, I get bored with the explanation lol.

Do you nip the tips of your hair like every 3 months to decrease split ends?

Nope. My hair is still in that short phase so I haven't trimmed it yet. Do you trim your hair every 6 months?

LOL Nope, I haven't. That's why I'm asking you if it's part of the "Definitely should do with Natural hair". You seem to know a lot about natural hair maintenance, I trust your judgment.

Hmmm, well you can do what I do--at the end of each month, take a good look at your hair. Examine how it looks, feels, the amount of shedding you've experienced, just make a critical analysis of your hair [not too critical though], just make good judgments. When you're done examining your hair, try to figure out how your hair differs from the way it was the previous month. Based on those things, you can determine what your hair needs or doesn't need. All in all, itvs pretty much up to you to determine how often you want to trim or whether or not you want to trim at all. For some people, its a must that they trim every three months, for others its not. For me, when my hair was longer I rarely ever trimmed it. If you want, I can look for some info for you wink

I'll probably cut it and let it grow back i'm not averse to that, is ur hair relaxed?

Shy-One:

@ OP

Brazilian weave?  IT looks completely real.  My natural hair is that exact consistency - that is why I thought the weave was your hair.

OK - in December 2008 because my hair was badly damaged from lack of moisture, lack of care, stress, over colored and over permed - I cut my hair completely off and started fresh - I had the stylist cut it to about less than half an inch long. Everybody was mad at me - I didn't care - they see my hair today - and are mad now because it's running down my back. Only please yourself - when it comes to your self-care.

Here are the products I used and I kid you not.  A leave-in-creme based conditioner that coats the hair and protects it.  I trim my ends every 4-5 weeks without missing, wash it ONCE A WEEK with either Olive Oil Shampoo or Creme of Nature Shampoo and put in a conditioner with a plastic cap to hold in heat and rinse conditioner out - about 30 minutes later and then put in a leave-in-conditioner (I can't remember the name - but it is excellent as the results outweigh any conditioner I have ever used - when I go home - I will get the name to post a link to you).

Here is the critical part - I lightly oil my temple all the way around my head everyday and I oil the very tips/ends of my hair every other day.  Also sleep in a silk cap every night.  Don't over brush and use a wide tooth comb.

Drink loads of water and eat vegetables (green).

My hair now sits between my shoulder blades and it has been exactly 2 years and 3 months later.  I am working towards it touching my elbows by this time next year.

I am very tender headed so I don't ever get braids or weave (sew in or glue) - I tried maybe 3 times to get my hair braided - brought tears to my eyes and I saw stars {it wasn't night time} it hurt soo bad.  I took the braids down 2-3 days later - a waste of time.  When I took the braids down - a lot of my natural hair came out as well.  So whoever said braids grow your hair - it never grew mine - it always took my hair out.

@OP: Have you seen a dermatologist yet? undecided

Saw a dermatologist but nothing she told me was news, most spas here are specialists on skin problems, ended up gettin a light peel tho.

Then perhaps you need to ease up on the weaves undecided

Here's some info >>> http://thenaturalhaven..com/2010/07/is-regular-trimming-necessary-aka-my.htmlhttp://motowngirl.com/index.php/tips-for-trimming-hair.html , and http://www.happygirlhair.com/2010/02/how-to-trim-natural-hair.html .

The first link is good. The owner of the site is very thorough with her info.

Hmmm, well I can't really say much has changed. I'm trying something new this week. I'm gonna try not using any products on my hair this week. So far, all I do is take a shower and just let my hair air dry.

What do you use and can the same order work for natural hair?

I use a carol's daughter hair milk shampoo (once a week), deep conditioner twice a week (will get the name later), jamaican black castor oil every night (to seal in moisture/prevent breakage), shea butter and coconut oil for leave-in (don't use too much in my hair because it weighs it down). Should work fine for natural hair.

For about 4yrs now, the hair on my temples have bin conspicuously absent and i noticed this after i took out braids back in '07 Cry, Bin waiting for the hair to grow back but still no show, I'll b very grateful for any suggestions. HELP MEEEEEE

Have you tried the natural way of treating baldness, like oils or something or take the tablets? if this still won't work, have you considering having hair transplant?

Hair transplant provides a permanent solution for this problem. Aside from rare instances where some have to get it redone, a procedure done with a skilled and certified surgeon often goes without any problems.

Alot of dark and lovely n ko kit relaxer in 9ja are fake,
Try the local relaxer or buy from a reputable retailer like yinka store on awolowo road , or uncle mentus at ALADE ,

Also at the salon let them wash out the relaxer very very veeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy well.

Imbibe ori shea butter every night, stinks but works, so in the morning you can use warm water and face towel to wipe it out.

This 2 are the major causes of hairloss if you use relaxer

@OP,
you might have hormonal problems.
you mentioned (and I can see from your pics) that you have acne problems as well.

these are all signs that your hormones might be imbalanced. You should try to pay a visit to an endocrinologist.

It can be either due to hormonal problem or may be there is something which does not suit your body. My first advice would be to get in touch with the medical practitioner as soon as possible.
