Ndipe:
More people die from cold related weather than humid weather. You can read it here,

https://www.usatoday.com/story/weather/2015/05/20/cold-weather-deaths/27657269/

Thanks for the link. It was a good read.

However the research is does not compare tempatures specifically in humid weather. Some places could be cold and the humidity still high.

Humidity and temperature are independent but you are more likely to experience high temperature in humid weather.

Moreover, in the study it was mentioned that the discrepancies in the differences in the mortality could be that "Public-health policies focus almost exclusively on minimizing the health consequences of heat waves,".

Taking the above into considerations put the results of the research into perspective.

Nigerian lady living in Toronto Canada narrates the odd side of living in Canada. The cold weather condition in Canada is one of the worst in the world. She narrates her experience living in Canada, also she tried to draw some veiled comparison between Nigeria and Canada.

She should shut up and stop being ridiculous.

so shoving snow that takes less than 2 minutes is so life crushing that she sees it as a sacrifice?

Some people really knows how to nag.

If her full senses were working she would have known that people have been living there and other colder places for thousands of years. Even with the cold there are people who would still leave a safe warm climate and migrate to colder regions.

If not that she is chasing clout, she would have known that one of the "worst" places to live in is the tropical weather. Infested with bugs, mosquitoes, venomous reptiles and other disease carrying rodents ( almost all year round) before crying over cold weather that last not more than 6 months all together in a year.

She should stop nagging and come home, after all even with insecurity that she is complaining about, 200 millions Nigerians are still living in Naija.

Instead of being grateful to God for the opportunity she is here nagging.

Edit.

For those of your insulting me. Look up the number of people that died from heatwaves in the last years and compare to dying from cold.

Or the number of people dying from hunger or malaria (tropical disease) every year.

My point is life is not easy anywhere and shoving off snow off your car is a little inconvenience compare to what most people go through in lives everyday around the world.

When are we going to start appreciating God's favor in our lives?

unatryooh:

You people think life is easy. You want easy life, probably she is among those that thought in abroad everything will be thrust free at them.

How is cleaning snow off your car so hard she has to complain about it? The Canadians have been doing it for ages.

If you think cold is bad look up how many people have died of heat waves.

Or how many die of hunger or from malaria (tropical disease) every year and compare it to cleaning off snow from your car.

Instead of being grateful to God for the opportunity she is here nagging.

WHY DO I HAVE THIS FEELING THAT YOU ARE THE REAL NAG?

Home is your source and with your kind.
In old age many here would realize it would actually have been better off had we developed our country than toiling abroad.
No matter how bad Nigeria is,it is still a blank canvass for the creative mind.
Many including those who live abroad are ignorant of the history of the areas into which they settled. It all started out as Virgin land, then humans came followed by chaos including open sewers in places like London and New York but over time some people stood up and fixed these countries.
We like the end product but hate the process. Less than a percent of a percent of migrants abroad will be remembered for anything. Home is Nigeria and home is where the work and the glory is.

For those who always shout about opportunities abroad, please take out time this weekend to read about the travails of Tidjane Thiam, the erstwhile CEO of Credit Suisse and understand that no matter how high you climb in the ladder of success abroad, some are waiting at the top to remind you that you were simply riding a wave that you didn't create.
In contrast, you must be a criminal to fall from grace like that in your own country.

Snow master did it take that lady upto 10 mins to clean the snow off her car given that she was doing it while filming?

We are discussing about how much it took her to get the snow off her car. I can see that comprehension is a big issue for you.

Keep disgracing your lineage it seems you don't know what illiterate means. grin

Cold weather comes with other adverse effects on health. It's not by coincidence that covid kills more in colder climates. Flu too. Suicide too. Depression too. Boredom too. Alcoholism, drugs, etc. No vitamin D. So every place comes with it's own problems. No place is paradise

Bros i no dey vex. I just finished report on number of children that die each year from indirect causes such as malnutrition and incomplete immunizations program. Only for me to open her thread to read about her complaints of cleaning snows that took less time than it takes some African children to go get firewood before going to school.

You are absolutely right.

But she chalked up her frustration on cleaning snow off her car that took her less time than it take some African kids that has to go fetch water or fire woods before going to class everyday. We don't see them nagging about it.

Canada or even Antartica may be heaven to you, but that does not apply to all Nigerians. Give the lady a break. Most Nigerians never knew what they are getting into until they physically land in Canada during winter. By then it may too late to go back to Nigeria, especially if you were struggling financially. It all boils down to money, means and riches.

No rich Nigerian will swap Nigeria for that kind of cold, freezing weather. Poor, struggling ones, like you, will endure it because, honestly speaking, your options are limited. No rich Nigerian will spend more than 2 weeks in such weather conditions and for holidays only.

I would rather live and die here among my kind than in a land that was built with the sweat of my ancestors.
Slavery in the past they kidnapped you and sold you in far away lands, but today you willingly offer yourself for a few of life's comforts.
There is more to life than constant electricity and great infrastructure. There is something called human dignity.
