Till this day, no one understands the rationale behind this move, legal gun owners never posed an existential threat to anyone in the country. Given our history of mistrust, I have long advocated for legal gun ownership. All the right mental and background checks should be carried out and people should have a right to small fire arms for their own protection. It is clear all of our security apparatus have failed woefully at securing lives of the average nigerian and it will not get better anytime soon sorry.
