These pple have been flexing london since before the birth of some peoples parents. But no street in Nigeria or even their village resemble the most low income ghetto areas of london in terms of amenities.

Privileged people promoting our cultture! OBJ even had his wedding in London.Meanwhile, what really happened that thing went awry between him and Brig.Gen.Gordon Alabi-Isama? Can any of them tell the truth of what that is in between?

As at thar time in 1963 london trains were already using electricity. I am sure obasanjo and his generation have sat down in one or two of them multiple times over the years.

The funniest thing about this picture is that Obasanjo was supposed to be 25 years old as at the time of this picture, going by his official age

Apparently, when OBJ took over 3MCDO from Adekunle in 1969, then Lt. Col G. Alabi Isama was chief of staff responsible for coordinating the war effort in that sector of the war. OBJ trying to assert himself consistently ignored Alabi's war strategy (Operations Pincer 1,2&3) and met with several battle failures/reversals. Preharps angered by Alabi's towering presence in 3MCDO, Obj in later 69 posted the young colonel to 1div under Illiya Bissalla. Frustrated at OBJs continued blunders, Lt.Col Akirinade dusted OP Pincer 2 maps, set up his command post and led the advance that ended the Nigerian civil war.
Now here's the contentious part, Alabi's was later forcefully pushed out of the army in 1979 when Obj was head of state. Alabi's claims his leaving the army was carefully orchestrated by Obj who had never liked his face since the war days and with the active connivance of his classmate Gen. Danjuma who had other reasons for not liking Alabi's. Also, OBJ would go on to publish my command, crediting the final victory of the federal forces to a dubious "operation Tailwind ". Alabi says there was never any operation tailwind and goes on to assert that the book, My command was a tale of lies. So piqued was Alabi, that he credits the writing of his much vanted book- The tragedy of Victory to correcting/setting straight the base lies/records in OBJs book. There you have it.

Were they really? Alabi says he barely knew OBJ. Says himself and Akirinade visited Obj to take over 3MCDO when Adekunle became a mess but OBJ objected on the grounds that he was an army engineer and that both young officers were coming to send him to his death. Alabi in his book claims he gave OBJ a dressing down for his statements. Perhaps the old, wily Ota farmer never forgave nor forgot and carefully plotted his revenge over the years grin grin grin
