I believe it has to do with the culture here in Africa. Polygamy is widely accepted in Africa and Nigeria respectively so the issue of the man cheating is easily overlooked cos in most cultures, he's expected to officially bring more women home.

But when a woman cheats, it's seen as a taboo, cos our culture expects the woman to keep herself for her husband regardless of whatever she's going through in her marriage. It's her duty to remain submissive. This is where the accusations comes in. Cos it's an abomination for her to cheat.

Unfortunately, our parents who are supposed to teach their male children the dangers of polygamy ignore that lesson, leaving men to grow up with this terrible womanizing mentality, and even if they don't practice polygamy directly by marrying numerous wives, they will do it indirectly by not being faithful to their wife when they get married.

That's the Genesis of the whole problem....our culture.

It makes absolute sense. His point is not that she cheated with the gateman, he was trying to nullify the idea of bringing the third party into the matter to take part in the blame. The gateman committed adultery knowing fully well that he is sleeping with his oga wife. He also has cheated the oga by taking away his exclusive access to his wife. He has violated the rules of marriage, that makes him a cheat.
