Most of their experiences are similar but they are not the same thing. One is solely based on gender identity struggle, the other is based on some difference in sex characteristics some are born with..

There are similar in the sense that some intersex people are raised up as a gender their bodies didn't later develop as growing up. For example, a child is born with a penis and raised up as a boy but growing up, his body didn't develop as other boys but rather a girl's body or even a body you can't tell if it is a man or a woman, so such people later switch and start living as a girl. Vice versa for those born with a vagina and raised up as girls and their bodies did not turn out to be like other girls but rather a boy, they later switch and start living as a boy.. (This is for intersex cases)..

And comparing with transgender case, the similarity is that a child is born with a penis and raised up as a boy, growing up his body and everything also like a boy but his brain functions like a girl so all his character reads female. This one is the character not looks or body development. Their brain function like a girl so they are placed on some certain hormone drugs that transform their bodies fully to a girl's body and they start living as a girl or some even do surgeries on their bodies.. Also the ones born with vagina and raised up as girls and their whole bodies also develop as a normal girl also feel like boys. All their behaviour like a boy. Their brain function like boys so they are placed on some certain drugs that transform their bodies to men or some do surgeries to remove their breast etc and they start living as a man.

So, the similarity is that they were once raised up as a certain sex but later identify as an opposite sex later in life, some of them due to their natural body development (for intersex cases), some due to the way they feel and the way their brain functions (for transgender cases).
Some will feel intersex people are more natural and convincing than transgender people but trust me they are all connected. There is a reason why people like this exist..

Note : Not all intersex people have this similarity with transgender people. Intersex has many variations.. There are many intersex people that have no similarity at all with trans people. .

For example, some intersex people are born with penis, raised up as boys, their bodies also developed as boys and they also feel and behave like boys. No physical difference in appearance and behaviour between them and other boys out there, the way they find out is when they can't impregnant a woman and that doesn't stop them from being a men.. Their own is mostly internal. On the inside not outside. Also vice versa for some intersex people born with vagina and raised up as girls, their bodies developed as a girl too and their behaviour like a girl too. No physical difference in behaviour and appearance between them and other girls just that most of them do not see their periods or fail to develop breasts and most are also infertile ..

We also have intersex cases of people born with two organs. At birth, parents may decide to raise the child up based on the appearance it looked more as an infact at birth but growing up, some may not turn out to be as the infact they were raised up as or luckily some do turn out to be as the infact they were raised up as.. For example, someone born with penis and vagina and parents decide to raise her up as a girl but growing up, the person's body developed as a boy or someone born with penis and vagina and parents decide to raise her up as a girl and growing up, the person's body also developed as a girl. That was a good guess, isn't it?

But there are some intersex cases the person may be raised up as boy and the body develops more as a girl but the person still feel like a boy and refuses to live as a girl but keep on living as a boy..

When you talk about transgendered. They are transgender people or even intersex people or gay people who work in porn industry. But most are artificial. That is, men who take drugs to look like women but leave their penis and work as prostitutes.. Some later in life stop taking those drugs and transform back to men..

I hope you all now understand the difference between the two. But please do not discriminate any of them. They are also human beings like you. Try to understand them and why they are like this instead of judging or criticizing them.
I believe there are rare cases and nature has a reason for making them this way..

Thank you.. smiley Feel free to ask questions...

Wow. this is splendid. love how articulate you are when u write.

Sometimes I wonder how people with such conditions cope especially when living in a 3rd world country like Nigeria where gender fluidity is non-existent.

I worked as a paramedic at a point in my life so I understand how it feels. A look at the comments above will give you a hint of how cruel and dangerous it is to exist in an underdeveloped country.

My heart goes out to all dandies out there who have been bullied, mobbed and a few even killed because they look and act differently.

It's even worse for guys who have girly features. A read a news here on NL where a man was mobbed and almost lynched for looking and acting like a barnie.

I just de read the news the cry inside.. Africa needs to cut ties with their colonial masters and take her own type of education and sensitization on a whole noda level... else Africa will keep on being a graveyard of talents
