[MY OPINION] never read with the mindset of a racist. Read with a plain overall view

It will get to a point in the history of America that people who determine who becomes the president ( or occupy other political public offices) will be the black-american, Latinos, Asians Americans and other race other than the real native Americans themselves.

America is a country many race are migrating to in other to get themselve a citizen Right. Which is commendable, America policies and laws welcome and allows migrants easily,( trump made it more harder)

If Americans keep welcoming migrant into the country and giving out US. citizenship-Right easily, blacks, Latinos Asians-Americans will overpopulate and overshadow the native Americans themselves (in later years, probably go in extinction) while the country get dominated by race from part of the world..

The advantages and benefit..

1. USA will be highly populated with people with diverse skills, ideas from different part of the world.
2. USA will be a "game changer" for those looking for greener pastures in other countries, maybe because of the bad-state of the country they are leaving
(You can keep a long list of the advantages and benefit)

The risk and possible disadvantages
1. Infiltration will be so easy (for terrorists, fraudster, and other related crimes

2. We will have few Patriots in America, because most migrants who got the USA citizenship are already a citizen by birth in a country previously. Majority of them will citizen America citizenship as an"option B" (Same applicable to those who have citizen by birth in America but are blacks, Asian or Latino, they will have to understand thier root isn't from America).

The military, public offices and major institution in the country has high percentage of been compromised by migrants issued U.S citizenship.

Am not discouraging migration, but USA need to accept migrants with extreme caution and high sense if discretion,
Especially when issuing it country whose citizens are desperate leave their country!
How is this related??
And why are you more red headed than the nazis?

No. But the Op yesterday erred when he said Nigeria Dentists suggest only extraction. That was a fallacy of hasty generalization.
Please do not mind ignorant Nigerians. I read the fallacies on the other thread with amazement. I am not a dentist but I have got dental problems. I extracted once and there was no redemption for tooth as it totally went bad. Last year ending, I was in a dental hospital, had X-ray, did washing as well. The dentist examined the x-ray and gave me the options available, infact he even strongly advised me against extraction for the tooth I thought we should extract. So don't believe all these stories. Some are even saying they extract to make money, meanwhile RCT is costlier, so it doesn't add up at all

Sometimes it comes like an attack, sometimes it comes like I’m about to have stroke.. chai .... one night I wanted to pluck out my teeth with plier due to pains.

You are right. The pain is better not experienced.

Good morning, This is a counter thread to this topic:

https://www.nairaland.com/6354106/why-nigerian-dentists-always-suggest

There are basically 3 reasons why Nigerian Dentists will rather do extraction than a root canal treatment and they include;

1. Cost: The average cost of an anterior teeth root canal is 22k + 35k for crowning and 28k + 35k for posterior teeth in a GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL, Private clinics should be x2 or x3 of the quoted price. For those that don’t know the meaning of crowning it’s a procedure to reenforce the tooth structure after a root canal procedure.
So the question is how many persons can afford to part with over 57k to treat only one tooth when the minimum wage is 33k?? No Government Health Insurance for citizens, The so called NHIS is in shambles, the last time I checked some HMOs in NHIS don’t cover RCT. Payment for Dental care is out of pocket.
Sometimes when you tell patients about the whole root canal procedure they are excited till it gets to money part, some will even be like 57k for just one tooth? Please just remove it.

2. Deteriorated Condition: The first source of help for Nigerian Dental Patients anytime they feel pain is the “Chemist” , some even go to extent of getting dental formulas, powders and concoctions (Mama Agness Dental Formula) to alleviate their pain. Pain is a symptom not a pathology, when you apply those formulas and concoction, the pain may subside but the disease process will continue. Sometimes patient delay in seeking treatment and when they eventually come the tooth is already grossly compromised and are even Retained Roots.

3. Availability of Equipments: We all know healthcare is not a priority in Nigeria. Our hospitals are in shambles and in bad conditions. I will say this without any apology, the only way to get quality medical treatment in Nigeria is via private hospitals if you can afford their fees. Government hospitals are Jokes.
How many governments hospitals have OPG machines? Digital Xray machines or Even functioning dental chairs? How many Nigerians can afford to pay 90-114k per tooth in a Private Clinic to get quality dental care?

The question should be directed to the Government who have kept the citizens in perpetual poverty, with no health care insurance and has made it impossible for them to afford basic life needs.

Let me know If you think otherwise.

My concern:

They should inform the patient that there is an alternative to the tooth extraction.

I have extracted about 2 teeth but the dentist just went about the procedure as if there is no alternative.

Too bad. I may consider legal action against the dentist

In Nigeria, we don't have doctors. What we have are either ignorant trial by error medical reps or hungry and greedy veteran medical reps.

If you fall sick and you go to any so-called hospital in Nigeria, 90% of those reps will immediately place you on MALARIA and/or typhoid treatments without even conducting any tests. So many people have been slowly killed and so many now have resistance for this malaria drugs.

The olodo ignorant dentists too will always result to extraction because that's the easiest approach.

Lazy People.

Isn't it ironic that you mentioned ignorance?

No Dentist will do extraction without your consent. Secondly the tooth may have been beyond redemption hence extraction was the only treatment option.
Be careful with the law suit before it goes the other way.

I did too but couldn't withstand the heat from the pot, the woman soaked Dagunro leaves (mind you there are two kinds, one with thorns and one without thorns, she used the one with thorns including its stems and roots) in palm wine then put it on fire ( she didn't allow us see us what she was using but I managed to), not just any pot but clay pot known as "IKOKO" in Yoruba, boil the leaves for some minutes then put the pot on a small stool, pls do not put it on the ground, nd sit down on the bare floor, opening your mouth right inside the pot, cover yourself with a duvet, the heat from the pot it's all you need, it has to go directly into your mouth, after some minutes you can stand up nd pour the stuff on the ground to see if anything came out, in my case one of two worms came out, white in colour, was told to repeat till everything is out, but I couldn't stand it secondly, the woman was charging too much for it, dunno if you can stand the heat from the pot.

Another option, get aspirin and apply on the affected tooth, also buy Dabur herbal toothpaste for brushing, the paste helps too, it'll kill the germs in your teeth, you have to continue using it till it stops, the teeth will break into pieces but it's not gonna be once, it mostly happens when you're eating, I swallow mine without knowing.
Lastly, avoid too hot or cold stuffs, sweets and chocolates.

Shey U see those ones yarning okoto meow, na because e never do them, mine started from pry sch days, was told to remove d teeth but I refused, you do not cut your head off simply cuz you have headache, make dem dey form ITK for there, Woke, my flat ass!
Hope this helps.

What style of writing is this? How do you expect non-experts to know the meaning of the abbreviations: "HMOs", "NHIS" and "RCT" you used here? Next time, try and define your abbreviations first before you use them in your discussion. Otherwise, your write-up will be meaningless to non-expert readers.

Number one which is cost is to me invalid. You goahead to first tell the patient that their tooth can be repaired and let them decide if they can afford it or not rather than just telling them the tooth shoud be removed.

No procedure is done without an informed consent from the patient. Did you read the part where I mentioned patients get excited when you tell them about root canal treatment?
