Pls in how many countries have you participated in the management of their armed insurrection or any form of armed security challenges?

Anyway, here is your perfect country, US, deploying troops because of civil strike.
are you normal? did you even check the date of the report?

Mobilizing the military to put down strikes and planned insurrection or insurgency is different permanent deployment of the military in 29 out of 36 states.

The same US military are presently not deployed in any US states at the moment to maintain peace but Nigeria military has been on several military missions all over the country for more than 5 years battling militants, banditry and internal insurgency or insurrection which shows something is terrible with the internal security architecture , the Nigerian police are simply living below expectations.

They are busy cashing out heavily on daily basis within Apapa /Tincan axis

Those troops are members of the national guard who are empowered by law and training to respond to domestic emergencies. Please read it up. Nigeria military is not empowered by law or training to be permanently deployed to quell civil disturbances or maintain law and order internally.

They want to retire all eligible DIGs and AIGs from the south.Even those just promoted. Nepotistic Buhari.

I'm not really concerned about those retiring but those tipped to take over. Is it that no more high ranking police officers from the southern part of the country?

They include DIG Sanusi Lemu, DIG Usman Alkali Baba, DIG Dan-Mallam Mohammed, AIG Hafiz Inuwa, AIG Garba Umar and CP Dasuki Galadanchi, who recently completed a course at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State.

So, until RECENTLY when he got Promoted as ACTING AIG, this Dasuki Galadanchi was just a Commissioner of Police (CP)!

Interestingly, only one among the 29 AIGs who are general duty officers currently in service is not cramped by any provision of the Police Act 2020, but feelers indicated he has an unofficial hurdle of political undercurrents to contend with. Born on June 1, 1970, AIG Moses Jitoboh who hails from the southern flank of the country still has nine years in service, but he is not among the names peddled as front liners for the position of IGP.

An alumnus of NIPSS, Jitoboh is currently the acting DIG in charge of Research and Planning, and was until his recent deployment, the AIG Border Patrol Unit. A multiple degree holder and PhD candidate in Geographical Information System at the Graduate School of Abia State University, and was at a time, AIG in charge of Zone 8 police command as well as Commissioner of police, Adamawa State Police Command, among others.

In the meantime, the only senior police officer of northern extraction who is not entangled by the provisions of the Police Act is Dasuki Galadanchi, a Commissioner of Police who is due to retire on March 3, 2025. His only snag, however, is that he is yet to attain the approved rank of AIG to be eligible for appointment as IGP.

You see why Nigeria is how it is?
You see NEPOTISM of Buhari at work again?
A newly promoted CP, wants to be IGP over a long standing AIG, with a Doctorate Degree and long standing experience as AIG!
shocked angry

The ONLY REASON why the CP Galadinchi can be leap-froged to IGP over the Doctorate Degree holder AIG Moses Jitoboh is because the former is a Northerner-Muslim while the exceedingly latter is a Southerner-Christian.
When l agree with those who say this Nigeria MUST BREAKUP, can you blame me?

Sad and Shameful

Less advantaged region when it involves school cut off suddenly becomes genius in every sphere of human endeavour they found themselves in Nigeria, but in the international scene they flop

AIG Moses Jitoboh still has 9yrs in service but won't be made the IGP even with his many academic and professional qualifications.

Hausa/Fulanis have used tribal and religious differences to kill this country. Nigeria is a country where Merit has gone to the dogs.

Goodbye IG. Buhari, pls do something good for once. Let an Igbo man take over from Adamu. An Igbo man' second name is loyalty

will you STFU!
How will putting someone there simply because he is an Igbo man and wants to be loyal to Buhari, be different from putting a Northerner there who will also claim loyalty to Buhari?
We are complaining about Nepotism and you are here begging for Nepotism, just because it suits your tribesman?
You people are no different from the Clanish Buhari that you complain about. angry

The next in like to that position is that AIG Moses Jitoboh (I dont even care where he is from) and should be appointed to the position.

They should give it to DIG Moses. He might be fully/partially free from any political loyalty/influence and has years to fully reform the police. Also it will send a good signal that the govt isn't all about the north

Lol. Only a state or regional police system can help Nigeria.. Also, the military in Nigeria way too powerful and political.

What most Nigerians don't understand is that their political structure in Nigeria affects how many things work. If we want real changes, we need to fix our political system.

Don't blame d force, blame d govt dt refuse to build a suitable police force sir.Our prolonged period of military rule made d govt to channel more resources and attention to d military. The police was therefore neglected and thereby becoming a dumping ground for all kind of touts and miscreants.Funding was at zero level and policemen were meant to fuel patrol vehicles and run d the force themselves.Even d little amount budget for d force will not b released.Compare d funding and recruitment process of RRS Lagos with dt of d regular police and see d difference sir
