I don’t think it’s wrong for him to show who he really is
There is nothing wrong with him not having now what matters is does he have potentials

This is just like my brother’s situation
He was broke and just a teacher in Lagos when he met his wife, she is white from USA too. He could barely pay his rent
She came endured with him here in Nigeria
It was even my mother that sponsored their wedding
She later went back and petitioned for him
Now he is doing very well and his wife is not even working and he provides for everything
It took a while for them to get there but with hard work he did
He is now a citizen and a deputy sheriff in his county in Georgia

Present condition shouldn’t matter as far as both are hardworking
He has built a massive house in Nigeria too
