In December 2020, A nollywood actor raised an alarm over plans by some social media influencers to discredit Amotekun having collected 4 million naira each

Barely a week later ,the media attack started led by a most respected paper ,which incidentally is owned by an Ibadan Aristocratic family, the punch , the punch punched the Oyo state governor hard on insecurity and on his birthday, this is a newspaper that has always been soft on PDP and hard on APC and has even been referring to PMB as GMB(rtd) because of perceived dictatorial stand of PMB. After punch other papers followed especially northern papers like daily trust. Every major title had one scathing report or the other on Amotekun..,..even premium times fell for it. The online media had a field day reporting on unpleasant news after another about Amotekun in Oyo state to the extent people started wondering if it's only Oyo state that has Amotekun. The NUJ chairman in Oyo state expressed his concern also.

On Saturday 16th January 2020 while discussing the issue on Fresh Fm ,the Chief press secretary to the governor made a startling revelation , he revealed how during GEJ administration the media houses used to publish reports different from the one sent to them by their field correspondents, for instance the army would attack insurgents but the papers next day will report that Boko haram attacked soldiers... This revelation is instructive , THE MEDIA CREATES CRISIS in other to sell . The way the recent clash of Amotekun and fulanis in ibarapa was reported left many confuse as the media claimed herdsmen were killed while Amotekun claimed they killed criminals .

Conclusion....
Nigerians should not always be carried away by sensationalism created by the media on insecurity, it's always for a selfish reason, sales.
Fortunately most media houses are southern owned so it makes sense to say SOUTHERNERS ARE DISTABILIZING THE SOUTH.
"No northern papers/media dare attack southern security outfit the way southern papers/media are doing and not risk backlash".

LETS CALL OUT THE MEDIA ON IRRESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM OVER AMOTEKUN.....this is not gagging or censorship ,it making the accountable and responsible .

I think we all just have to endure the remaining days of Buhari in Aso-Rock, we can't get it right with him, when he leaves we live again as one, with him we can't have peace in this country...I've decided never to complain about anything I see in his government, I only pray not to fall victim of his reckless government

God bless this writer. This is one of the problem of common man in Nigeria, we believe anything bad news especially coming from Nigeria and use it to blame the government. If we don't have faith in our country, sincerely no one we do.
