Will they refuse to give certificate If one does not get the gown and later go to collect certificate?

And by the way NOUN is an Online institution why hold students certificate since 2020 instead of sending to students mails!
It's not a full fledged online institution as exams will/are still written in the halls like other institutions do.

Somebody like you will do the same thing if you have the opportunity.
Once a man can not judge right from wrong the he himself is vulnerable.
The case at hand has to do with a set of individuals but not the entire nation

So, you now realised that there was a country?
This is one of the many things wailers have been crying about but some urchins are shouting them down.

Well, I have a question to ask.

Have you seen any University organise convocation for its students and convocation fees are not paid? Why are we now questioning this?

NOUN have Study Centres in all states of the federation and all graduands are expected to pick up their convocation gowns from the study Centre. This convocation gowns are to be returned after the ceremony which is going to be held online.

As graduand, you are expected to put on your convocation gown and join the ceremony online. The 15k comprises of 10k for the collection of certificate and 5k for gown (this payment for gown will be refunded).

Now, everyone is complaining because the students are paying for convocation fee which every University in the world pays. Even Private Universities that did online matriculation during the lockdown collected money for convocation.

The 10k is for the collection of your certificate. In the actual sense, you are not paying anything for convocation.

Education is largely about business now. When you check that school, don't be surprised they have many needs they are not attending to but want money for gowns

Before you troll me, this is the story of NOUN.

Just leave some persons to continue to whine. Instead of asking questions, the OP is there shouting. He wants to collect his certificate without paying for it.
5k for gown will be refunded
10k is towards his certificate
...but he never knew cos he never asked.

Don't let OP mislead u. 5k is for gown and it will be returned the moment he return the gown after convocation. 10k is for the collection of his certificate. OP is just ignorant.

The fact that NOUN is a Public institution and is moving ahead without losing any session despite the lockdown and Covid 19 should be appreciated. They are even convocating students when all other public institutions are lagging way behind should be an avenue to appreciate their steadfastness, but instead, we Nigerians never see anything good in any thing Nigerian.

We should learn to appreciate some things in this country.

One thing I know about NOUN is that you don't pay for convocation gown after the convocation has taken place. So my advice to students is that they should wait after convocation before doing their clearance since you are not going for convocation.

Which "There was a country" ? Under Buhari Nigeria has become the best country in terms of infrastructure, ease of doing business, security and so on. Infact $1 is equal to #1 and the price of goods and services has fallen drastically.

I paid last year though the convocation didn't hold and we were asked to hurriedly return the gown no refund was made.

I can't just understand if he gown will be won virtually.

NOUN has ZERO tolerance for CORRUPT PRACTICES/CORRUPTION by students but the system is so CORRUPT. Going through the different payment fees you'll discover the system is so so so CORRUPT.

Waiting to see the response of management to this.
