Lol, Most of my Lecturers are PhD, you can't Lecture without PhD, a research degree isn't same as professional. Similar why MBA isn't giving masters status here in Nigeria.

In some schools,MBBS holders also double as PhD holders. According to NUC, you can't lecture in pre-Clinicals without your PhD. But this rule doesn't hold water in clinicals.

Yeah something kind of similar to Optometry and Physiotherapy.

That makes sense.

As you can't lecture Clinical Pharmacy without a PharmD or Bpharm.
