A video shared by aides of Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State shows Magnetic MRO, a Chinese owned airline maintenance company based in Tallin, Estonia painting one of the two aircrafts purchased for the State owned Cally Air.

This Newspaper had first reported that the State has acquired two aircrafts with one on lease.

And, the current video in circulation, shows the paint work done by Magnetic MRO, an aviation company opened in 1995 as the maintenance arm of Estonia Air. It was purchased by private equity investor, BaltCap in 2010 and in 2018, was acquired by Guangzhou Hangxin Aviation Technology from BaltCap.

In the video, engineers can be seen creating Cally Air on one of the two aircrafts purchased by the Cross River State Government.

Initial findings suggests that the Boeing 737-31S with tail number 5N-BYR, manufactured in 1998 with Serial Number 29266 and Line Number 3092 was the one in the video.

Whao! Seems a departure from the Ibom Air CJR planes. The governors of Akwa Ibom and Cross River are blazing the trail in this state-owned airline project whether it is lease agreement, outright ownership or PPP.This what it means to walk the talk.

Hope the scammers and fraudsters behind the #1.5B Air Nigeria Logo launching in London in 2017 will learn something from these governors even if corruption cant be exclusively ruled out in such deals.
