This is a blattant breach of an african country's sovereignty approved and stamped by Obama and Goodluck Jonathan. Did any african leader utter any comdemnation?  Imperialism , re-colonization underway in West Africa.
Nigerians beware!!!
Goodluck Jonathan befriended with France President Sarkozy to perpetrate an electoral hold-up in Nigeria with the blessing of USA.  Would Nigerian accept the outcome of such an upcoming rigged elections?  Fears for Nigerian presidential election !

Great news! Thank you France.

Many African countries have continually demonstrated to the outer world that they cannot govern themselves. If re-colonization is what will make their economy to work, why not?  Since gaining independence, poverty, corruption and such vices have remained rife in most of these African countries including Nigeria.

This is indeed food for thought for Nigeria politicians.

Goodluck Jonathan befriended with France President Sarkozy

@poster GEJ befriended Sakorzy because Sakorzy heads the G8 and G20
this year, and during the France-Africa Summit in Nice Last Year
President Sakorzy promised to lobby 2 permanent slots for Africa in the
UN security Council; Nigeria's foreign policy goal is centered around this
permanent seat

It's simple if you follow the Ivorian politics very well you'll realise that France want Quatarra as the president at all costs no wonder they place an arm embargo on the Gbagbo's govt but allow the rebels to operate very freely. I think Gbagbo should have himself to blame by allowing an election in a rebel controlled area without first insisting on disarment.

Thank you for this link only the guilible will not see beyond the fact that this conflict is not just Gbagbo/Quatarra issue but an attempt to impose a French/western puppet to protect their economic interest
Re: Unacceptable : France Takes Over Abidjan International Airport by Nobody: 11:25pm On Apr 04, 2011
What concerns Nigeria and your war? undecided

anyway both Outtara and Gbagbo should be held culpable in the events of war crimes

sun of god thanks for posting.

now lets see what happens in nigeria if the "wrong person" wins the elections.

makbo i agree - african nations are now fair game and have lost all claim to their soveriegnty and i think nigerians should brace themselves as nigeria may be next on the takeover list if US puppet GEJ doesnt win.
Re: Unacceptable : France Takes Over Abidjan International Airport by tunnytox(m): 12:28pm On Apr 05, 2011
The UN and France has been bombarding the presidential palace to allow rebels to take over but they won't be doing anything about 900 people murdered by Quatarra's forces SMH for this so called UN. I still believe that the election was rigged by Quatarra especially in the rebel controlled area but time will tell if Quatarra really have the interest of the Ivorians or that of his master which is France
Re: Unacceptable : France Takes Over Abidjan International Airport by Akhenaten: 2:37pm On Apr 05, 2011
France has never left Africa. They continue to interfere in their former colonies in Africa. When will Africans wake up and see that we have no friends in this world?

What about the Africans who were massacred in cold blood in a village in the Ivory Coast by the rebel forces? Why isn't there an outcry? A whimper? Or widespread news coverage? The hypocrisy makes me sick.

All this nonsense ends the day Africa unites into either one, two, or three countries. No more.

The reason an African airport can be taken over by a France today is that Africa is balkanized into 57 mostly weak and dependent, often divided ''sovereign'' countries.

China is twice the population of Africa, but no western government could occupy a Chinese airport even decades ago when China was still poor, talk less of today. Because China has a centralized executive with wide ranging legal control of the entire land mass of China. Africa badly needs this.
Re: Unacceptable : France Takes Over Abidjan International Airport by Horus(m): 1:14am On Apr 06, 2011
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said the UN and France had no right to take sides in the conflict.

“The UN peacekeepers and supporting French forces in Cote d’Ivoire have started military action, taking the side of Ouattara, carrying out air strikes on the positions held by supporters of Gbagbo. We are now looking into the legality of this situation, because the peacekeepers were authorized to remain neutral, nothing more. We’ve requested an emergency briefing in the UN Security Council. We will keep looking into the matter,” Lavrov stressed.

To all those people thanking france and shi7. France didnt do AYTHING they just waited until the ivorian troops did all the hard fighting then swooped in at the end for glory and a "good human rights record." this angers me so much.

The same thing happend with nigerian troops in the first ivory coast civil war. ECOWAS did all the hard fighting then the british come in at the end and take responsibility.

I guess most of the Africa’s forefathers who sold fellow Africans to Europeans for a piece of mirror were intellectually superior to, at least, first 12 respondents to this thread.

I see where you are comming from but the whole of Africa uniting is a pipe dream at present - Nkurumah and Lumumba went to their graves with that dream and Gaddafi was the last leader pushing for it - notice how Gadaffi had the picture of those two African legends behind him when he made speeches?

I believe that what Africa needs now is good management, but the leaders are hopelessly devoid of any kind of ideology that will lead to prosperity.  Look at Nigeria today, their destiny lies in the hands of a former brutal ex dictator 68 years young and a pastor,  a former policeman who is loyal to Godfathers or the incumbent who is sleep walking when he's at his best.

If each country is well managed the respect and unity will come naturally with time.

Its so funnny PEACEkeepers attack Ivorians  grin grin grin what kind of PEACE is that?? The west are taking double standards and imperialism to a new level; whilst the world watches they blantantly violate all the rules they created themselves  grin grin grin grin

Don't forget that about 10 years ago the British did the same thing in Sierria Leone, the Nigerian troops did all the hard fighting and DYING.  The world was harking on about how toothless the AU was despite Nigeria's efforts so Obasanjo at the time asked the EU for Logistical help to finish off the job - but they refused.  Eventually the British came in to finish off the job captured Foday Sankoh and took all the Glory.  Looks like in 2011 Gbagbo is playing Foday Sankoh and Sakozy is playing Blair.  embarassed

the fact that there are people on this thread hailing france's intervention in ivory coast should indicate to you that africans are a lost people, second slavery is knocking at the door, perhaps when the chains and shackles are placed around the necks and ankles of these dullards they will then realise that they are about to be re enslaved for another 2 centuries by their european masters.
Re: Unacceptable : France Takes Over Abidjan International Airport by Dede1(m): 10:51pm On Apr 07, 2011
Africans are big fools to think that might is not right. Unfortunately, Africans have been bereft of any indigenous thinking faculty. I use to think of “greater tomorrow” from Africa but future looks so gloomy as manifested by certain responses to this thread.
