The question on that thread deridingly implied matching the skill and training of a division of US army soldiers against the whole Nigerian army. I merely pointed out that it's not skill, training or bravery that will give the US division the victory, but their vastly superior technology. There are battles over every kind of terrain and type of situation. After all, the entire might of the US army could not defeat a ragtag team of a couple of thousand Taliban. If the Nigerian force fights on asymmetrical terms in favourable terrain, it could do as well as, if not better than the Taliban against the US army. I know that the US has the technology and will use it, but that is not a reason to downgrade the Nigerian army, whose ranks contain combatants who could be every bit as professional as those of any army in the world.

The Vietnam war was a geurilla warfare and the Americans struggled with them because they knew the jungle lesser than the Vietnamese.

So many misconceptions about US military. Bravery isn't defined by your physical strength but mental strength also inwich US military is endowed with. An average USA Soldiers is probably more intelligent in tactically maneuvering than a Nigerian soldier.
