A 24-year-old tricycle rider identified as Uchenna Nwafor was arrested by the B Division Awka patrol team over illegal possession of a firearm. HGS Media Plus reports.

The suspect from Umuogdunun village was arrested on Wednesday afternoon around 2:44pm along Juhel Pharmacy Nodu, Awka, Anambra State.

HGS Media Plus gathered that the patrol team was on a stop and search duty when the suspect in a suspicious manner was accosted on the road.

A search was conducted on him and a locally made pistol with a life cartridge was recovered in his possession.

The suspect was consequently arrested and is currently helping the police to reveal his motive for carrying a firearm.
