PRINCE DENNIS ABUDA

Mr Abuda, the ebullient man in the picture above, is a family head, a realtor and an insurance broker based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He is a NIDO member in Atlanta, Georgia.

He hailed from Fugar in Etsako Central LGA of Edo State. He visited Edo State recently. He was set to return from Nigeria last Saturday, back to the USA, in the process of which he was kidnapped in Benin City on his way to boarding a flight for Lagos enroute Atlanta before he could leave Edo State.

His kidnappers demanded N10m. But, regrettably and painfully, killed him before the entire saga could be resolved.

Remember his family and friends in your prayers this night and every other night as you read this dirge!

It is no longer arguable or debatable at this critical time, whether insecurity under the People's Democratic Party (PDP)-government of Edo State is more severe than insecurity in any other state or part of Nigeria or not. But what is crystally clear, however, is that the number of morbid and mortal victims of kidnapping and killings that are reported in Edo State is now grossly understated compared to unreported cases of insecurity and violence in Edo State.

For a state government, which Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, allegedly pockets about N750m as monthly security vote but which has largely been confused, incompetent and unsupportive of security agencies in the state with adequate new and modern tools, technique and architecture to tackle crimes and violence, and which local government council chairmen also emulate to pocket tens of millions of naira monthly as security vote, it has rather become convenient for the leaders of the governments (Governor and Chairmen) to unscrupulously govern the people and victims by politics, lies, propaganda, fraud and deception rather than by transparently focusing governance squarely on the security of lives and properties as well as reduction of poverty.

While the good people of Edo State mourn the untimely and painful death of another bread winner and responsible citizen of Edo State owing to the inability of government to take timely and critical life-saving decisions, which has no other name than sheer incompetence, we pray that God will give the family of Mr Abuda the fortitude to bear his loss.

Finally, we leave the prevaricating leaders of Edo State Government to provide an answer to the underlying question of its anti-people policies: who is the next victim(s) of kidnapping in Edo State?

Sebastine EBHUOMHAN, Abuja.

So sad! The high rate of kidnapping in the country is quite alarming!
Imagine leaving the US for a visit only to come and die in Nigeria.

Buhari has turned Nigeria to the underworld capital of the world. Nigeria is now officially the most dangerous place in the world all thanks to the lifeless cow we have as a president

Crimes in Edo State has quadruple since the release of well over 2000 prisoners during the EndSARS period.
Raping of women is now a daily occurrence.
Stealing killing and destruction is now the order of the day.

Good, Honest and hardworking Nigerians said it back then, but no one listened to us.
What a sad story.
May he RIP.

Hypocrites will avoid this part so bad.
Y'all should keep shouting Buhari Upandan while your governors, local government chairmen, councilors continue looting your lives and the lives of your unborn kids right in front of you.
Dem no dey telli person.
Na old una dey old dey go so, without using your brain to see where the problems in your lives really came from.
Misplaced priorities in life.

Macphenson:
And what is the vegetable in power doing about it?
Nothing. A failure is a failure.
After PMB gave that huge amount of money to tackle security, the amount you read above up there, to your Governor,
you still went ahead to type this jargons.
(Almost ONE BILLION Naira every month paid to the Governor to secure his state!!)
You still went ahead to open your mouth calling Buhari!
Politics don do you something sha.
Hatred is really worse than HIV.

Just continue this your blind hatred for Nigeria, please never stop.....okay?
We know your type.
Keep chasing clout with our moniker...okay?
Na dere u dey so....
It is obvious who the failure you are talking about is...
It's so glaring.

Please advice me.

A man built a small flat for his small family of 3, sixty years later, his children and grand children all still live in the house, however due to excessive large population they built additional 4 floors above converting the house to a 4 floor building.

But note, the original plan for the house had a foundation meant for just 3 bedrooms. Now the house contains 60 persons.

The house had so many structural problems, the electricity panel originally designed for a capacity of 3 rooms now served 28 rooms and trips off too often due to overload. The bore hole originally designed to serve a family of 5 now serves almost 60 persons so in most cases water supply was short.

Because of the smallness of the space, the children are always fighting, food hardly would go round, even in cases were there is enough food, some children would prefer to hide it away from the rest, the family is factionalized into groups and they always quarrel and fight.

The mans older children have suddenly become a nuisance to the community due to poor education, they are under employed, they cannot live independent lives and are forced to live with their parents even in their middle age. They marry and bring their wives into the same house.

The man as head of the house is always confused, his good ideas never work because the entire fabric of his house from the family to the physical structure is in bad shape. Whenever there’s rainstorm the entire house quakes, as though it will fall.

The old man has a small business, but his goods are often stolen as his grown sons who often connive with strangers to steal his goods.

Now this man started so well sixty years ago, then he was seen as a giant among his peers, today he is a laughing stock in the village. His house is over filled with grown up kids who cannot live on their own, his electricity load cannot maintain steady light since the original panels are small, the water boreholes cannot serve his current household and his children gradually becoming a nuisance to community.

If you are asked to advice this man on the best way out of his troubles, be very sincere to yourself, how would you advice him?

1. Break the entire house and rebuild.(Restructuring)

2. Terminate the entire leadership of the house and bring in a totally new manager to set up new rules and build a new house. (Revolution)

3. Try to maintain the house as it is hoping that someday things will change, the electricity will work and the children will change(Democracy)

4. Break the entire house and rebuild the original 3 flats, every unit on its own

4. None of the above. Then tell us your own solution.

Please advice this troubled man.

OP says to remember his family and friends in prayers when we all know it was from that same group of people that the kidnappers came to know about the victim and his movements.

The act of killing in nigeria is quite worrisome. Buhari administration has been boring nigerians, however, buhari should step down as he did to the service chiefs.

If you attach this to the PDP Governor in Edo, what do you expect from the people of Borno to say to their APC Governor?
