2nd Niger Bridge enough to give us election victory anywhere in Southeast, starting with Anambra - APC

The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has said the 2nd Niger Bridge being constructed by the regime of President Muhammadu Buhari is enough signpost for the All Progressive Congress to win any election in the South-East, starting with the Anambra November 6 governorship election.

Uzodimma stated this while inspecting the facility with some leaders of the geopolitical zone, including the Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Prof George Obiozor.

He said he had concluded arrangements to hold a rally where the Igbo would come out en masse to appreciate Buhari for the uncommon gesture to the people of the South-East


"We, as Igbo, had made the request for the construction of this bridge since 35 years without success even at the time of uninterrupted oil production and oil sold at 100 dollars per barrel.

"Nations are built by heroes. Every country must have its own hero.
Buhari is the hero of this country and this gigantic project.

He said there was no past leader of the country that would point at any single project it executed at N366bn in any part of the country as being expended on the 2nd Niger Bridge by the Buhari regime.

He added,"The contactor is world class contractor - the Julius Berger. We are going to go to town to spread this story. We shall hold a national rally to honour and thank Mr President for this gesture.

"Igbo, especially the people of Anambra State should go to town with town criers to ask people to register with the APC and vote for the APC in the November 6poll. We've not got it better anywhere. Ndigbo do not need any persuasion, anymore to support APC. Go and tell those still in the bush with den guns that the war has ended."

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu in his address described the bridge as" a promised made and a promise kept."

"We are happy that President Buhari is keeping the promise. Mr President has done everything to ensure that the project is realised by choosen a good contractor and dedicating funds for it.

"Every part of Nigeria will benefit from it. There is no how our people will not patronise APC. We will continue to work until we occupy Anambra. .


The National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof George Obiozor, thanked the president for doing such a massive project in the geopolitical zone.

The Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, who was represented by the Anambra State Federal Controller of Works, Adeyemo Ajani said the project had employed no fewer than 20,000 workers, stating that project had reached 55 percent completion and would becompleted in 2022 as scheduled.

The Niger bridge connects Eastern and Western parts of the country and is not exclusively a South Eastern project
