Grammarians in the house, please which one is more correct between these two sentences 1.Everybody knows his or her name 2.Everybody knows their name. I've searched the internet for a seemingly convincing answer but the results are contradictory. |

This first is more correct. The second is ambiguous. It could be taken as " Everyone knows their ( other people's names ) names. Whereas, you meant " Everyone knows his / her name." |
