The female child is born unlucky in many cultures. Yet the average Nigerian man cries and wails for the lack of teenage virgins in Nigeria.

How can the Nigerian girl retain her virginity? By virginity, I do not refer to the hymen but the consensus that should come with sex.

How can we be virgins when as babies we are not safe from our fathers, uncles, teachers, neighbors? Even before we can write, we are introduced to an adult penis thrust into our hands and faces.

It's not a crime to be a woman and these women should be rescued from molestation by the government but we don't even have that cry

Which many culture? - How many culture does this?

Immorality is why virgin is fast going on extinct in Nigeria, not what you’re saying up there..

All of you are as far as we outsiders are concerned are one "Calabar people". We don't see any difference. The difference only exist in your own imaginations.

Ur not only naive, but extremely shallow in reasoning. No Calabar person will accept that he or she is an Ibibio. Don't ever spew what u know nothing about. These are two different states with high level of heterogeneous cultures and language.

I don't get it when some uninformed people just intertwined unverified statements as facts. Akwaibom is not cross river. Obanliku is just a single local government area in the northern senatorial district of cross river state. you will be surprised that within that local government area there are different wards as well as clans speaking different languages with different culture as well!

your case was different because you should have preserve your virginity. We are talking about those abused. Don't forget even men are abused by women as well.

Yet with all these atrocities, Southerners will come to Nairaland and start calling muslims and their prophet names. I have never seen a people so hypocritical!
As you can see nobody is defending it.
It is exposed and shamed.
As you see, it is a southern media that is exposing it.

With time, it will stop as public scrutiny shines on it.
The Outlook is better.

Compare that to the North where you guys shamelessly hide atrocities and even defend it.

One abokii politician said almajiri is their culture and they are proud of it.
You guys shamelessly defend child brides.
The Outlook is worse.

That is the difference between the North and South.

The South will get better, the North is getting worse.

Akwa Ibom vs Cross River dick measuring bickering is as stupid as Abia vs Anambra, or IMO vs Anambra bickering some impostors on NL lead.
Why fight among yourself when outsiders see you as one?

Nobody outside AkwaCross will ever agree there is any difference between both of you. Any bad thing that happens in Cross River is automatically seen as Akwa ibom issue, and vice versa.
All of you are as far as we outsiders are concerned are one "Calabar people". We don't see any difference. The difference only exist in your own imaginations.

U see how dem dey enslave themselves. Later they will say the white man enslaved them that that's why the Nigeria is backward. Here they are selling themselves into slavery.

There are bigger distinctions between many Igbo clans than there are between Efiks, Ibibios and other Ekoid groups. As far as I'm concerned, you're just dialects of the same language group.

A whole commissioner in the south recently came out to tell the whole world that 60% of girls in secondary schools in his state are not virgins. I lived in the south and got to know that girls start to know men (I didn't write a man) from primary schools. So fornication with little girls is systemic and institutionalised in southern Nigeria. This fact u and I know but you want to pretend in order to appear moralistic. Tell ur talk to someone who has never been to Lagos, Onitsha, PH and other southern states.
