Good morning nairalanders, typing at 5:46am, not because I do wake up early but because I got stung by a young scorpion.
In the space of four days, we have killed 3 young scorpions in our room with one slightly bigger, pls help!!!! how do I get rid of them because am sure there will be more

NOTE: we just rented the house and it's tiles but the environment is quite situated in a bushy (lonely) area.

am in soup, I have never considered that, but does a small scorpion bite affects humans aside pains

Go to were they sell Agric Chemicals, explain to them, they will assist you with chemicals that will get rid of them.

They are not coming from the Bush. They are coming from the ceiling. Scorpions like dry places with alot of heat.

Op look for newspapers and use it to block all opening by the ceiling side in your house, also look for wall openings in your room and block it.

Call a specialist to fumigate the apartment and the surroundings.

In the maintime, buy a bottle or two of snipper and pour in all hidden conners of the apartment, ceiling included. Leave the doors and windows shut to enable it take effect.

Buy sniper and spray around your house if you don't have money for fumigation, please be mindful of food related areas,it will kill all of them

Buy original sniper or DDC and sprinkle generously in all your rooms and environs. Looks out for holes in the wall and openings between tiles and close them up. You should also clear out the bushes.

While fumigation is necessary, clearing the clutters in your house is also necessary..

Give out/ throw away certain things that gave the environment/ your room a 'junk status'.. something that will give those creeping things a refuge should go

Cats

Cats are experts at catching and killing scorpions, but you do have to be careful since cats could get stung or injured. If you happen to keep chickens, they can also keep the population down.

Sniper all over the apartment weekly until they stop visiting. Or fumigate periodically. Look for crevices with holes and block them. Check the alignment of your window nets to the wall and block any openings. Keep your doors closed. Clear bush around your house and keep surrounding ground dry. Raise your bed high. Stay off outdoors at night...pele o. Last I saw this was back then in Jigawa when I went visiting my sis during NYSC...those fuorkers can hurt like kilode.

Try clear bushes close to your apartment and fumigate your compound and apartment.
Use sniper once every week on your apartment when going out.

That should kill some and scare the rest away

Some years ago, I used to live in a house with tiny scorpions. I always spray sniper all over my house (was a self con). Though I never got bitten by them. I built a bedframe instead of having the mattress on the floor. I don't lie or sit on the floor no matter how hot the weather is. And sniper never finishes from my house

You can go to a close Pharmacy and get "Read a Dream" insecticide. It is a light purple container.



It kills scorpions. Tested! But you can go ahead with other advice.


Mine is just cost friendly. Say 1,200-1500.

Try to plan a 2 days trip and before u leave, put s iper every corner of the house, especially the bathroom, corridors, compouns etc then leave home.

That did the magic when we had same issue in my former rented apartment...
