Kriss216: Bandits up north especially seem to be of different types and groups. Some can actually be granted amnesty or reform based on how reasonable what their fight is about. I think some want government attention to certain issues in their localities. Then there are some that are just core bandits and criminals ravaging on the weak or terrorizing them. They shud be dealt with as criminals. In the south they are mixed or camouflage with herdsmen. There are different categories of bandits bt some can and need to be reformed and engaged. There is nothing wrong in that. It was same with avengers and co fighting for their land and resource control. Some have shown desire to discuss with government and they shud be given a hearing. |

It's a matter of fact & not one of "ethnic profiling". Only one tribe moves on foot with cattle from one part of Nigeria, living in the bushes & forests, carry deadly weapons, graze in people's farms, attacks farmers & now engage in highway kidnapping. We know they are not yoruba, Tiv, ibibio Hausa, kanuri, berom, Idoma or Igbo. |
