1. One of the disadvantages of the military shoe is that its leather is hard.
One way to soften it is to soak the boot skin on the outside and inside with 95% alcohol and knead the skin and / or go with the boot immediately after soaking it in alcohol. After the alcohol has completely evaporated the boot should be brushed with a boot polish that contains fat (there are liquid and thin boot pastes - especially in bottles with a sponge - that do not contain, or contain almost no fat. Their use dyes the boot but does not lubricate the skin).

2. It turns out that even the way the bootlaces are important is important. In the foot there is a place where blood vessels and nerves pass. If the boot presses in this area, a number of problems can occur: discomfort, blood clotting and pressure on the nerve - pressure that causes the toe to fall asleep. To prevent pressure, it is recommended to thread the laces through the outer loops (laterals) first.
That is, in the right boot start in the lower right loop, and in the left boot start in the lower left loop. Here is a great list of boots.

3. In a military boot the front of the tongue is sewn to the boot from the sides as well. This prevents sand, and even water, from entering the boot. If you press on the military boot in the area of the connection of the tongue to the boot, it is recommended to hand the boot to the bootmaker for expansion (that the machine will be made of iron and not your foot).

B. It happens that the tongue of the boot folds and slides downwards, or it slides aside. To solve these problems, two holes should be made in the tongue at a position about 3 cm from the top of the tongue. The holes will be about 5 mm in diameter, side by side horizontally. Their distance from each other is 1 cm. lacing the laces as stated in section 2, when also incorporating the new holes in the lacing. This will hold the tongue in place.

4. In the military boot the shock absorption is limited. Your body absorbs all the shocks - and it causes great damage to your knees and back. In addition, due to the intense activity there is a great risk of getting walking fractures (stress fractures).
To prevent cartilage erosion, blistering and other injuries, as well as to improve physical fitness - it is important to make insoles.
The insole should be done at least a month before recruitment. This is how you get used to them even before the hard efforts begin.
In warehousing, when recruiting, the measurement of army boots should be performed with the insole inside them.
5. Well-made boots should have a spine content - a reinforcement strip made of a hard material that is inside the sole. This part is implanted and is not visible. It extends from the back of the heel to the half of the boot. This causes the boot not to fold at the back of the sole, but only from the middle of the boot and forward. This corresponds, more or less, to the natural bending of the foot when performing the step.
There are boots on the market that have a manufacturing defect, and there are those that break due to the use of the spine, and then the boot folds in the part that is close to the heel. This can cause leg and back pain. Do not use such boots in any way!
Important to know: Even if you use the perfect insole in a damaged boot or with a broken spine, you will suffer from pain.

6. In a kneeling position (also called a collapsed sitting position) the boot presses on the front of the ankle instead of bending. There are several ways to prevent this pressure. One of the common ways for soldiers is to skip some of the loops (the holes for the laces). There is another, better way, which requires a certain "care" in the boot. Since this is military equipment - I will not detail what the treatment is.
