The north will loose most. They may be laughing because at this stage, its biting the south, and that is due to the fact that the south have been dependent on them fora long time. But if mistakenly the south IMPROVISE or ADAPT, which can be in the form of changing foods, or trying to grow it themselves, or importing them, then the north is finished. They better not allow that to happen. |

PatriotExact: they are not laughing, they are using reverse psychology... its hurting them really bad.. they're using propaganda to make it seem like its biting the south, south has never been dependent on the north for anything... like I told another nlder: every region in Nigeria has its traditional foods and these foods are not grown by northerners... so how can they stop the entire southern Nigeria from eating their indigenous traditional foods.. in summary, there are foods the SW grows and eats that the SE and north does not eat. 2 Likes |

PatriotExact: Yeah right. Farming in the south is by large companies owned by politicians they will price your food the same way they ran your states. Your young people look down on farming they’d rather be online abusing their seniors while doing yahoo. Let’s see how long everybody will last. I support the food staying in the north. We can eat it and sell to our neighbouring countries in West Africa. Eat your oil. Las las they will finally start drilling oil in the Lake Chad basin, |

Speaktruth88: Sir, At the end, the North will loose. I hope you know that it is only and mainly supplementary foods that come from the North. Rice is IMPORTED, FLOUR imported or/and milled in the SOUTH, YAMS are grown in the South. Onions, pepper, tomatoes, etc are what comes from the north. The south hardy eats local rice and that is what is produced in the north, etc. Secondly, if oil can be produced from the chad basin, or in the north, then with the muslim northern government that we now have, that is very much skewed to northern agenda, who also have pumped Nigerian billions dollars to search for oil, oil would have been overflowing the north. But take it or leave it, the north is not blessed with Natural resources but with arable land resources. And they can never compare themselves with the south who are blessed with the former. So now. Focus on your weakness. |

Let them continue. Nobody is indispensable. How many times has the Federal Government compensated Southerners whose properties have been repeatedly destroyed by the Northern blood thirsty Almagiries? How many farmers have been compensated by the Federal Government for crops destroyed? How many victims of the Northern Fulani rape victims have been compensated? The arrogance of the North will lead to their destruction. It is just a matter of time. The are pulling the rope and it will surely break someday. Islie: |

Guys, The farmers could never say that their hard and tenuous labour should go to waste, at least the majority of them. BLAME IT ON THE MIDDLE MEN, THE TRANSPORTERS AND ALL. However, let the South get serious about self sufficiency. Because in war, all is far. Well, if the South don't know that they've been at war for decades they're still in deep sleep. |

helicoptarr: SEE THE PREMEDITATED SEQUENCE A. Herdmen go to the south ignoring the modern and easier ranching practices that abound in saner climes They destroy farms and crops of Southerners and Middlebelterns B. Food shortage happens latently but the South quickly replaced the loss with extra food items from the North, that bring herdsmen to destroy Southern farms in the first place. The South now overwhelmingly depends on food 'import' from the North giving the North a greatly viable leverage C. A clash was instigated and this culminated in the cessation of the food supply as a leverage as I've already mentioned. This is expected to bring the South to it's knees with multiple strategic mechanisms aimed at suffocating, repressing, subjugating, and suppressing the South to the point of total submission to the North D. ... |

Despite that I dont support this strike but the government need to look into this. General Secretary of the Amalgamated Union of Foodstuffs and cattle Dealers of Nigeria has a point here. He said, "before a truckload of cows from Adamawa gets to its destination in the South-West, South-East or South-South, the owner would have spent about N250,000 on extortion". It z no longer news that most pains being felt by Nigerian are imposed on them by security agents who collect money from motorists. At the end of the day the prices of good will go so high and people will be suffering and lamenting. The earlier the government discipline her security agencies the better for us. These people have turned to task collectors on the road adding to the numbers of existing hoodlums that extort money from these transporters. |
