Good suggestion but you should have included "for a while" when you highlighted my statement. Your economy fundamentals are the foundation but, speculations influence your currency FOR A WHILE. Bankers trading currency use speculations to make profits in a very short period and they check out. They don't have time to hold deals for 3 months or 6 months. For example, if Biden announces a decision today, it will affect the direction of the dollar for like 3-5 days (for a while). The decision has not overruled their fundamentals like import/export, trade deals, unemployment figures, etc. Sometimes, "for a while" can last for months depending on the strengths level of the decisions/speculations and the currency fundamentals.
